pizzaguy December 5, 2012 December 5, 2012 I need to mount 2 radions to a 36" wide rimless. 2 things: I don't want anything on the edges of the tank and 2. I can't hang from the ceiling, its probably 25 feet tall. So I need a bracket that would mount to the stand somehow. Any ideas or pics would be really appreciated or links for somewhere they sell them.
epleeds December 5, 2012 December 5, 2012 make it out of PVC pipe. You can paint it black and attach it to the rear of the stand.
pizzaguy December 5, 2012 Author December 5, 2012 If radions cover 24x24, how would it be recommended to mount 2 radions on a 36x36x24? I have an idea but I need to see if the chassisshop where we used to get chassis work done will help me out . It would be chromoly and powdercoated. Any other ideas keep them coming please.
zygote2k December 5, 2012 December 5, 2012 pipe hangers always look like crap. something made from wood or plastic will look better. you could always make a wall bracket support too.
monkiboy December 5, 2012 December 5, 2012 if you want to hang from the ceiling you can. just use longer wire or make your own hanging kit cheaper than that thing ecotech sells. it'd be a long run and you'd need a scaffold or ladder but definitely doable if you care to.
pizzaguy December 5, 2012 Author December 5, 2012 I would also like to figure out a way to feed wires through pipe so it is very clean looking.

pizzaguy December 5, 2012 Author December 5, 2012 That would be brave. That second one doesn't look to bad.
Jon Lazar December 5, 2012 December 5, 2012 I would also like to figure out a way to feed wires through pipe so it is very clean looking. The size of the plug on the end of the power cord will make this difficult unless you use very large pipe. I would just use zip ties to secure the cords to whatever supports you end up using. That will keep the power cords neat and unnoticed.
pizzaguy December 5, 2012 Author December 5, 2012 So I talked to the chassis shop that used to build our chassis's he said he would help me no problem. So as soon as I get the tank here and get some measurements we will start that part.
pizzaguy December 6, 2012 Author December 6, 2012 anyone know how the lights should be mounted for a 36x36 tank or should i just put them centered over the tank.front to back or side to side. im guessing side by side a little closer to the front. but i def dont want alot of light spilling out the sides of the tank.
ChrisTran December 6, 2012 December 6, 2012 I used to run 2 Radions side by side on a 36x36 tank. I had them close enough that the overlapping coverage was an ideal spot for high light demanding corals.

It depends on your rockwork. I had mine like this:
zygote2k December 8, 2012 December 8, 2012 why not hang them from the ceiling? even if it's 25' high, it'll look a million times better than any of those pipe hangers.
pizzaguy December 8, 2012 Author December 8, 2012 I dont know if I would like the wires just hanging off the back of the tank. I'm still considering the arm bolted to the wall and wires fed through the wall. I think that would be pretty trick.
