Ryan S August 31, 2012 August 31, 2012 (edited) I was wondering if we had a cafepress webpage, with t-shirts, mugs, etc. All proceeds go to the club and what not. Would make for nice raffle items too. I'd love a wamas t-shirt for example. Anywho, did a quick search and found something shocking. LINK W T H Edited August 31, 2012 by Ryan S

BowieReefer84 August 31, 2012 August 31, 2012 Well at least we have ladies apparel! I didn't see a gender option...
Origami August 31, 2012 August 31, 2012 I'll bet if you searched "thong" here you'd find a few references, giving you some sense of the timeframe of the design you've found. It actually goes back to at least 2002. Must be really gnarly after 10 years.
smallreef August 31, 2012 August 31, 2012 Okay so not to touch THAT with a 10 foot pole BUT shirts would be cool!Id sport one around town...
treesprite August 31, 2012 August 31, 2012 How can anyone be here a few years and not have heard of the infamous WAMAS thong? People have been making jokes about it forever.
Gatortailale August 31, 2012 August 31, 2012 How do you think we keep chip happy and get him excited to organize fragfest each year? But on serious note - I can look at cafepress and see what new products they have to put logo on/ new T-shirts.

But on serious note - I can look at cafepress and see what new products they have to put logo on/ new T-shirts. Thanks Craig. I don't see why we couldn't make some mugs, tshirts, etc, and promote it a bit more for extra club funding. With that said, do we have an "official" logo? I've seen a few different ones the website? My last club had a contest for a new logo made by members. It was fun and we ended up with a killer logo. If we wanted a new one...
Steve175 August 31, 2012 August 31, 2012 Rob mentioned on another thread that he often goes commando: maybe we should pass around the hat and buy him a few pairs of the current option. In a more serious vein: I would love to own a few shirts (kid sizes as well please) and mugs. Thanks Ryan (as always) for the motivation.
Origami August 31, 2012 August 31, 2012 This seems to be our "store" on CafePress: http://www.cafepress.com/wamas There is no markup at present. What you see is what CafePress gets. See the options and, if you like any, feel free to order. That's how it seems to work anyway. Logo contest. Now that's an interesting idea. Maybe not official, but maybe for a tee-shirt design option. Are you guys up for it?
dbartco August 31, 2012 August 31, 2012 We've done logo designs in the past. Had a wide range depending on what kind of promotional items you want. Multicolor and fine detail on print material vs. simple embroidered on golf shirts are 2 different beasts. We do have golf some shirts we could sell, we just haven't advertised that much. Mostly kept around because we give one to each of our speakers. We could probably do a run and get another 100 printed up at about $25-$30 per shirt. We haven't tried to make money off the members on cafe press or other. We are doing pretty well money-wise from membership, so there hasn't been a huge need to charge and make money or fundraise.
Gatortailale September 1, 2012 September 1, 2012 as for product quality - I got a few coffee cups, T-shirts and beer mug. I ran the cup in dishwasher daily and no fade to image. T-shirt held well after washes. Don't use beer mug much. I believe this image is on tank at national aquarium in DC. I will leave it to current officers to decide if they want a logo contest. I like keeping things somewhat consistent with current one - but would be open if someone had way to make it pop more; but still keep some of the basics of current design. Anemone could be fixed in current. I think it would also be cool to have some other scene or image on back of T-shirt... otherwise chip will have us putting his top 10 list of beneficial uses for owning a wamas thong on the Tee.
flowerseller September 1, 2012 September 1, 2012 What if we put an image of an "anemone fixed in current" on the front of the thong?
Chad September 1, 2012 September 1, 2012 ^I'd come up with something I've been on a drawing kick lately. By the way, I meant for a T shirt... Ive got an Idea floating around waiting to be turned into reality.
smallreef September 1, 2012 September 1, 2012 LOL chip.... Yall are just crackin me up... I personally would like the embroidered golf shirt more than a t-shirt but a T-shirt with the option to have different sized graphics like one that would be on a pocket and a large design for the back....
jimlin September 1, 2012 September 1, 2012 what about the letters wamas in the shape of a clown fish? The letters look so plain to me. can still add the .org behind it in the shape of another small fish or something.
davelin315 September 1, 2012 September 1, 2012 Okay so not to touch THAT with a 10 foot pole BUT shirts would be cool!Id sport one around town... It's very tempting to abuse my moderation privileges and edit the word t-shirt... Resist... Temptation... Pressure... Is... Too... Much...
davelin315 September 1, 2012 September 1, 2012 I vote we have a t-shirt featuring a graphic of all of the thong buyers in their thongs. Seriously. FYI, if we are fund-raising, cafe press is expensive as you put nothing forward yourself and make vey little. Going with local shops keeps price down for all.
