bbyatv February 18, 2014 Author Share February 18, 2014 I finally made the switch from Phoenix 14Ks to Radium 20Ks. Here is the new fixture with new reflectors. My PAR went from around 350 to 475 at the same spot in the tank. The combination of reflector and bulb sure seems to put out the PAR. bbyatv February 19, 2014 Author Share February 19, 2014 Ya, I love my Regal. I scored him from PetSolutions.com for $80.99. He is large, has great color, and eats very well. All of the fish I got from this site have survived and done great. I have seen Regals at some LFS that do not look nearly so nice. At some point I will take pics of just the fish so you can get a good look at him. Bruce

YHSublime February 25, 2014 Share February 25, 2014 Bruce, any problems with it nipping at your zoas or SPS? Everything I try that's "with caution" ends up being "not reef safe" for me, I should have learned my lesson by now.

bbyatv May 31, 2014 Author Share May 31, 2014 I changed out my old Coralife 500 calcium reactor with a Grey Seas Aquatics calcium reactor yesterday. Man what a difference. The effluent is not at 50+ dkh where before I struggled to get 20 dkh. Lots more alk and calc for the same amount of CO2 going into the tank. Much better efficiency. Here is a pic of the unit in place. Bruce
Origami May 31, 2014 Share May 31, 2014 Sweet looking reactor. The two stages are stock? (It looks like there's a second reactor to the right sharing the same baseplate in the first picture.) Does it vent excess gas prices try to recirculate it? What's the large gray boxy-looking thing under the media plate? bbyatv May 31, 2014 Author Share May 31, 2014 Thanks. I added a second stage to try to reduce CO2 into the tank. The second stage is a Coralife 250 calcium reactor (no CO2 line connected). I am trying to burn up the excess CO2 from the M4 in there. This model GSA M4 does not have a recirc design for the CO2. I think the large large grey box is just the return tube from the recirc pump that stick through the media plate. Take care. Bruce Sweet looking reactor. The two stages are stock? bbyatv June 25, 2014 Author Share June 25, 2014 Your not kidding about the light. My par at 14" deep is running about 680. I run the halides from 12 to 8 and the T5s 2 hours before and after the halides come on. Bruce That's a lot of light! How long do you run each daily? Tank looks awesome, as usual.
