Feeding sugestions

I really should have said "feeding methods"

I don't know how most people feed their fish and corals but for decades I have been using one of these. I use it at least 3 or 4 times a day to target feed fish and corals, blow stuff off rocks, suck up live blackworms and baby brine.

I would never just put food in the tank because different fish need different foods.

I have a small burrfish that will only eat from the thing. Of course he is very spoiled.

Anyway, I could not live without it.

We all have those special fish which hide all the time and need food blown in their face.

I am coming to the meeting this weekend and will bring a dozen if anyone wants one for what they cost me which is about $7.00.

I don't make anything on these and I have to buy the bulbs by the case.

 

I won't feel bad if no one wants one.

How long is the tubing. My tank is 30" to 32" (Cant remember) tall.

I made them different lengths. I need to fit them in my luggage so maybe I will bring some longer tubes.

I only have a dozen large ones and 6 small ones that I was just going to give to the club and they could figure out what to do with them.

If I knew so many wanted them, I would have ordered two cases.

I could always ship you a case if more people want them.

The problem is the acrylic tubes, I need to go to New Rochelle for those and I will not have time before the meeting.

I will see what I can do.

I am not worried about the money, they are not that expensive, I just didn't know so many people wanted them. I wish I knew last week because I can't get any more by friday.

The bulbs I order but the acrylic tubes I need to go to the Bronx to get and I will not be able to get there this week.

I will talk to you at the meeting and maybe send a couple of cases.

As for the seahorse feeders, I am sure I will have time to talk to you about them if you like. I don't have any more of them either or I would bring some.

We have a few inches of snow here again this morning so I need to go out and shovel now.

another way to make them yourself that is beyond cheap is to get the tubing diameter for the food you want to feed and then your own length from hardwars/home depot/craft store/fish store and then take a small piece of flexi tubing and glue them to an old syringe (like from an old Alk test kit or aiptaisia X) gives you alot of control over how slow things come out and the syringe being air tight doesnt drip out the food.

 

Ive had mine for years now and usually when someone comes over they go Holly crap thats a good idea.

 

I like the one shown above alot for the multi purpose (blowing off rock etc as it has a little more volume behind it)

Dbartco, I think thats a good Idea, I will give them to you and you can figure out what to do with them.

Like I said, it is not a business but I can get as many as I need, I just need a little time.

I did sell these on reef central a couple of years ago but it is not a business I really want to get into right now but I think they are a help with maintenance and feeding so I would like people to have them.

This is what I am bringing to the meeting.

That is an 18" ruller so some of them are 20" I may have some longer tubes for the small ones so I will bring those also.
