Thanks to everyone who put on this event. It was awsome. I picked up some great corals and got to chat with a lot of cool people.

What was really impressive was the generosity with which people donated corals to be fragged. Hopefully I will have something big enough to frag by next year!

Thanks for sharing both info and corals.

Sounds like a great time. Makes me sorry I was laid up with a nasty case of shingles across my eye. Well, the stabbing pain also makes me sorry.

Sorry to hear Dave. Hope you feel better now.

You could have come and had palythoa juice shoot across your eye while fragging like me. Pain was similar. ALWAYS WEAR A FACESHIELD. I was, but failed to put it down....

Again, special props to the vendors that helped out and donated so we could get all those freebies and raffle items.

A thank you to Naga and Almon for the demos. And, thank the short bald dude that asked not to be named.

When I came home I put each of the frags into separate little plastic containers to acclimate tehm, floating teh containers in teh sump to keep the temp proper. There were so many that I didn't notice that one had gotten wedged out of sight. I discovered it this morning. I knew when I opened the lid that there would be a dead coral in there, but didn't expect a stench that practically knocked me off my feet!

Where did those brown frag plugs that were given out at the frag fest come from? I want to buy some but the only plugs I can find have a tapered end.

Gads!

The blue/pink coral that was fragged out at the end for $15 per frag...

Has anyone's gotten BLUE on it yet?? Obviously growing? Encrusting??

Light? Flow?

I have my (2) frags in HIGH light and Moderate flow - and Moderate light, with high flow. Neither seems to be doing much more than surviving so far.

How'd that SPS colony Chip got from Diver's Den turn out? Did anyone get frags of that?

Bob,

Mine is still a lovely peach color. It's only been in the DT for a few days, and is starting to show some PE. It's under relatively high light and moderate flow.

The piece I got has encrusted over the cut but has not appeared to have "grown".

It's taken on a tad more green blue tinge but still more noticable tan features.

We got a total of 5 pieces of this coral. I have one mounted midway in the tank. It is encrusting the plug and have noticed a little growth, the color is changing just not as fast as the other 4. The other 4 are high in the tank on a frag rack and the color is like Chip said a green/blue tinge. I am going to try to get some pics tomorrow and start a new thread for everyone to show the growth and color of the coral. I hope i can get some decent shots.

Here's some of them. I don't remember what anything is called. I'll have to take pictures of the others I guess.

The following frags are from the same coral, all were in a single bag. There was another one which turned all white on me - it was the one I had highest in the tank. The darker one is lower in the tank than the others.

One of my DD Barbie acro frags. It is starting to get a slight bluish tint - but basically pinkish.
