treesprite February 20, 2008 February 20, 2008 what are folks experiences with this food? do sps respond well? do they actively feed? I'd be interested to know if it's any better than the homemade stuff from the food-making party - I still have a lot of that stuff left but I'm sure I'll eventually run out of it.
luceneck February 20, 2008 February 20, 2008 (edited) On another board I asked for homemade food recipes and most of the users suggested going with rods reef food and saving the hassle of preparing your own food. There was one comment that mentioned that Rods has high po4 but I have no experience to support/refute that comment: http://www.club-zoa.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8949 Edited February 20, 2008 by luceneck

Hopefully this spring someone will host another one of these things.
SkiCurtis February 20, 2008 February 20, 2008 Yes, I have used 2 samples from the last MACNA and the reef and everything it responds very well. I feed a variety of other frozen foods ass well. If LFS carried it I would buy it from them. Or I"M up for a group buy? Curtis
jamal February 20, 2008 Author February 20, 2008 the reason i asked is because brk now carries it so i wanted some real world experience
johnnybv February 20, 2008 February 20, 2008 I have been feeding it since I got it a few days ago. It has a nice blend of large and small pieces, so fish get some as well as the corals. My tanks all appear to be enjoying it, corals esp acans really open up. My guess is I will see some pretty dramatic changes over the next few weeks. john
johnnybv February 20, 2008 February 20, 2008 Jamal, come in and I will give you a free sample, and you can let me know your thoughts. john
lanman February 20, 2008 February 20, 2008 mmm.... coral food... I feed a mixture of stuff - but I was just thinking I would love a smaller meaty food for the acans and blasto's; seems too bizarre when they have this huge PE mysis shrimp in their mouths. I'll be dropping by for sure - see if everything likes it. bob
Highland Reefer February 20, 2008 February 20, 2008 I live out of your area, but would be interested in hearing about your verdict on the food.
Grav February 21, 2008 February 21, 2008 Got a packet from BRK today. It looks good, not sure how it tastes.
gmubeach February 21, 2008 February 21, 2008 I want to try it, but I am sure brk will be sold out by the time I get there... got alot going on until maybe sunday!

gmubeach February 21, 2008 February 21, 2008 YEYEEYE I will try and swing by as soon as I can get the car. I read the reviews and it seems like its got alot of good stuff in it! I have a sun polyp I hope he likes it!
Lee Stearns February 21, 2008 February 21, 2008 I'll pick up a bag next time I'm out at BRK and give you a shout.
SkiCurtis February 21, 2008 February 21, 2008 It's good to know that BRK is selling it now,I need to make the journey. I hate living like 1 hour+ from one of the best LFS stores in the DC area. Buy by default My closest store is Rozzen's Curtis
rottloverr February 21, 2008 February 21, 2008 Probably a stupid question but... What is rods food exactly? Cheers, Sean
Gadgets February 21, 2008 February 21, 2008 Probably a stupid question but... What is rods food exactly? Cheers, Sean Alex, I'll take "What Is Rod's Food?" for $500. Food made by a guy named Rod...
lanman February 21, 2008 February 21, 2008 Couldn't make it there today - and tomorrow looks to be an incredibly bad choice to go anywhere. So... looks like I have a date with Rod on Saturday. bob
treesprite February 22, 2008 February 22, 2008 Got a packet from BRK today. It looks good, not sure how it tastes. You'll get back to us on that, right? Just make sure you use the right wine to compliment the flavor.

Grav February 22, 2008 February 22, 2008 Tried it last night went well. I'm not much of a target feeder for coral, but the fish like it and it goes well with a nice Merlot. Lots of vairety, which works well for getting new fish to eat.
