  1. The Grand Mart in Centreville had Stonefish and Octopus - live
  2. I'll stop by tomorrow and pay for 2 400w ballasts
  3. Question: I am working on the lighting for an acrylic tank. It is 3/4". The tank has 2 openings but I think I need 3 250w bulbs for coverage. I was planning on using 3 LumenBrite minis (I have them now). Do you think its OK to place one over the center brace. It would be about 15" above it. Or am I running a risk by doing that? TIA - George

  5. You have some very nice corals (just to state the obvious)
  6. Nice. How do you like the reflectors - Lumen Bright minis?
  7. It doesn't like bait n' switch at all - just an honest mistake. That's OK - those things happen. Being upset when someone makes an honest mistake is OK too. I know I would be as well. It prob would have been better to PM Sean about it before posting on a board though.
  8. This is what I enjoy about WAMAS.....you get to read about a man and his dream.. Good Luck!

  11. I have a D40 and you can borrow it for a week for a test if you so desire /George
  12. Congratulations. That is quite an accomplishment. Papa.
  13. That is just a little too cruel. I hate reading posts like yours because it is a too real reminder of the many contingencies that we need to plan for. Best of luck on the rebuild.
  14. Some WAMAS people are pretty flip with negative comments whether they are stating "facts" or their opinion. I think they should be more thoughtful in their postings. I have no problem with MS calling someone out to explain their point of view. I think the MS response is an indication of the perceived harm (actual harm?) that negative off-hand remarks can have.
  15. I am planning on doing a little upgrade from a non-drilled glass 125gal to a used 215 Acrylic tank. The lack of a sand bed and limited aquascaping options led me in this direction. I also hope to move further into SPS with little or no fish addition. I want to use a closed loop for circulation by drilling holes into the aquarium back. I have thought about using 4x1" outputs and 1 2" input and a Reeflo Dart. I might add a OceansMotion at some point but I would likely start with equal flow to all. Additional flow would be from the return connected to a 1" sea swirl. Does anyone have an opinion to layout or plumbing advise, or perhaps a pic of their closed loop? TIA /George
  16. I bought 2 10K bulbs and one was far to yellow to be 10k. I didn't go thru the hassle to complain. That eBay vendor was recommended by others as well
  17. That was a great event! Some people really worked their butts off and I tip my hat and raise a beer in thy honor.
  18. Excellent effort. Are you thinking what I'm Thinkin'?- college scholarship! BTW - it's nice to read about good things on this board. Keep us informed!
