  1. When one of mine died, the snails and hermits made short work of it. Though it was a pretty small clam.
  2. Mine kinda stop where they meet and then grow upwards and away from each other. Looks neat where i have a purple, green and orange Monti coming together.
  3. Just noticed this thread, thought Id share mine too
  4. So if left unchecked, these will for sure kill my SPS? or only if the SPS is stressed? I guess I can see if I can catch my Mandarin and Divided Leopard Wrasse. Those two are doing very well and Id hate to kill off their food supply. I started looking closely at some other pieces and there is an infestation alright... (zoom in and look at the base of this acro by the red blasto) AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
  5. O crap... not that you point them out... shiz. Easy treatment as in remove all my snails and crabs and nuke the tank with Interceptor? and killing off other pods, etc? Thanks for pointing them out in the photo.
  6. Jon: I tried looking super close and did not see anything. ? Jan: Yes
  7. Jan, the super glue trick worked on that piece I fragged. Looks like you'll have a frag soon
  8. We could always trade frags with fellow members for free or at low cost I do like some of the stuff on DD... perhaps it is time to organize a GB, or Group Trade. You buy one colony, I buy a colony, we both frag off one branch and trade!
  9. Forgot about UHaul... they rent pickup trucks for $19.95 + mileage. Those would certainly have enough payload capacity for all your stuff. You dont wanna be this guy driving through Potomac, lol
  10. Watch your weight... all that stuff adds up. You dont wanna break your car Each gallon of water is like 8lbs. Pickup truck might be best if water is going to be sloshing all around.
  11. Super glue is on! Piece is fragged off, we will see what happens tomorrow
  12. Sounds like a plan Jan! Super Glue Jelly Time!
  13. The only thing I did these past couple of days was remove that rock in an attempt to pick off all the Caluerpa algae that was growing all over. Perhaps taking it out of the tank stressed the coral enough that it started RTN/STN? I've cut off that piece with the RTN/STN. Should I frag off more pieces? or leave the rest? :( I lost a HUGE colony of Oregon Tort before in one night. Hope the same doesnt happen to this piece. It looks so colorful!
  14. Nope. I dont think it is AEFW. I took the piece out and looked very closely. the ONLY thing I can think of would be maybe Joes Juice hitting it... but this piece is in a pretty high water flow area, so not much would "stick" to it. I only noticed this today and not 2 days ago. Cant think of anything I did in the past two days like touching it or getting Joe's Juice on it.... Im stumped. Some research seems to suggest maybe RTN/STN?
  15. While looking closely in my tank, I noticed the underside of my Miami Orchid piece had a small round section that looked like it was flaking some. Ive seen something similar in the past when SPS touches frogspawn, etc, but nothing is remotely close to this piece that could sting it. Anyone have ideas what this might be? Should I cut and frag off the sections close to it?
  16. Im planning on putting in a Transfer Switch soon. I already bought a Onan 3200W Peak Inverter Generator earlier in the year for other activities The Inverter Generators are WAY quieter and supposedly generate "clean" power? On that note... do we have any WAMAS electricians in the house?
  17. Looks like ich. Were they both in QT for at least 4 weeks? 4 weeks is right on the line for amount of time in QT. Usually 4 weeks minimum seeing no spots. If you added the Tang at a separate time in QT, then you need to start the time period all over again.
  18. ^ This is now $799 at Costco :O Im looking too and some of the sample videos Ive seen on YouTube are amazing. Especially one shot at the GA Aquarium. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=juwnARK5lHY
  19. You guys have any idea what kind of macro this is? Im guessing some type of Caulerpa.
  20. All I know is whatever macro is blooming in my tank right now is growing at a faster rate than my two tangs can eat :O
  21. My Cali Tort is all white :( Was huge too... then overnight it completely bleached out. :(
  22. The only fish I have in my tank that could be mating are Clownfish. But they arent fry... definitely a worm of some type. Edit: Whatever they were, they are no more. Just went back to look and nothing coming to the light. They must have been eaten
  23. I just noticed these guys while looking at my tank tonight. Attracted to light, white body and they look like pretty good swimmers. I did some searching and thought they might be Planeria? But those look more "slug-like" and stick to the glass. These are swimming in the water. I tried to get a short video with my phone...
  24. Near Olney, MD. 20906. Actually you can see a 1+ year old Ushio 14k which I have in the center and the XMs in the outer pendants.
