  1. Jack, I have tons of Nori if you want it. Since I broke down my 125G, I have multiple packages left... I dont think they go bad...
  2. you can get 10kW standby whole house generators now for under $3k. Might be a worthy investment for future. http://www.costco.com/Browse/Productgroup.aspx?Prodid=11671393&search=generator&Mo=19&cm_re=1_en-_-Top_Left_Nav-_-Top_search&lang=en-US&Nr=P_CatalogName:BC&Sp=S&N=5000043&whse=BC&Dx=mode+matchallpartial&Ntk=Text_Search&Dr=P_CatalogName:BC&Ne=4000000&D=generator&Ntt=generator&No=1&Ntx=mode+matchallpartial&Nty=1&topnav=&s=1
  3. Ive got a working PCX30 if it comes down to it.
  4. I know Montgomery County has well defined ordinances. A quick google search turns up little for Fairfax. http://www6.montgomerycountymd.gov/dectmpl.asp?url=/Content/dep/community/generator.asp Most people think a generator is a generator. They are not. Some are actually quite noisy. All my neighbors have el cheapo ones and they are probably twice as loud as mine. When I goto racetracks, it's common courtesy to shut them off at night so people can sleep, but obviously it's a different situation we are in. But because of that courtesy, I ended up buying a fairly quiet inverter generator. Rated at 58dB @ 7 meters away. Most cheap generators are 75-85dB, so quite a big difference.
  5. Dunno about colonial hydroids, but I used to love blowtorching majanos w/ mapp gas
  6. Be careful... once you introduce aptasia/majanos in your tank, you might very well end up w/ a tank like the one linked above. Part of the reason why I tore down my 125G. I got so darn frustrated w/ the majanos and weeds.
  7. Only your first? I think I flooded the basement 3-4 times. Probably part of the reason the wife made me break down the tank :(
  8. Dropping price on the tank, stand and all live rock for $300. Wife is pestering me to get this out of her kitchen.
  9. Tank is back up for sale. Unfortunately it didnt fit in Jan's location :(
  10. Valeria ended up taking the Banghai, yay (and all the ricordias)! What's left: Yellow banded possum wrasse if Evan decides not to take Live rock, lots of it. Some brown palys RedSea Wavemaker Large EboJager heater Chemicals (new): Calcium, Magnesium, Alk/2part from BRS in powder form
  11. Valeria passed on the Banghai Cardinal. Still up for grabs.
  12. Tank is sold to Jan. Waiting to hear back from Valeria on the Banghai Cardinal Live Rock still avail. Will sell for cheap.
  13. Tank and stand are available. Evan was kind enough to post a picture above.
  14. this is a very useful site for determining what incentives are out there. We just put a 4.07kW array on our house. Upfront was $21k. 30% federal, $2500 MD, $5000 county + SRECs and power savings.
  15. All livestock sold except: Live Rock (now free from majanos thanks to some blow torch action. The peppermint shrimp love to feast on roasted Majanos) Galexia Yellow banded Possum Wrasse MH lights pending to Hypertech Tank/Stand pending to Audible T5 lights to fishnreef
  16. checkout Amazon for Generac whole house generators. They are surprisingly cheap. Also remember that there are permit issues, etc that need to be looked into for install. You have to run a gas line to the generator and your Washington Gas bill wont look pretty if it is on for an extended period of time. I run a 3500W inverter generator that sees double duty for my track events. It's enough to power everything in the tank but the metal halide lights. Also much quieter than the standard generators my neighbors use.
  17. OLD. at least a few years. Make me an offer Hippo is sold
  18. Nadir/Nick from fishnreefs picked them up (weds). They are a HUGE colony so Im sure he could break off a few heads out of the like 30-40 from frogspawn and maybe 20-30 from the Hammer.
  19. Mine came in off a frag somewhere and they have proliferated. Real annoying when they got into my SPS colonies and started stinging them. Ive found the other way to kill them is w/ a MAPP torch. So if you buy live rock from me, you can have fun w/ the blowtorch.
  20. Hammer/Frogspawn is sold Scroll coral is sold Duncan is sold Green Chalice is sold T5 Actinics is sold MH setup pending to hypertech
  21. Thanks Guy! Be back one of these days.
  22. HA! I was tellin ya not to Believe me, they DONT DIE. Only way Ive ever killed them was bringing that rock outside, then letting the thing dry out. I do have one of those ready to go if you want it.
  23. Can you not edit original posts after a certain time? Anyways: Banggai tentative to Valeria. Some ricordias to Valeria. Wrasse to DerABT Blue Tang to DerABT
  24. Doing my best to list pricing, but Im not sure what some of this is worth so reasonable offers entertained. Ill try to get some pics up soon. DerABT (Evan) was nice enough to come over and snap some pictures for me. I just dont have time to take care of such a large tank anymore. Things are starting to fall into disrepair and before everything dies off, Id like to save the lives of what I can. Here is a shot of the tank when it was doing well: http://brakeswapraci...nk/IMG_0035.JPG Livestock/Live rock needs to go before equipment. 125G AGA reef ready tank w/ dual overflows 125G AGA black stand that has been sprayed with "truck bedliner". These will be hard to separate from live rock, so if you buy, preferred method will be with the live rock. I have one growing on a defunct MaxiJet, a couple others on coralline algae that I could scrape. These anemones have been in my tank a few years now and split every few months. $60 each + live rock. There are some pieces of live rock with multiple anemones and I will discount multiples.
  25. Never had an issue on glass. Could also be the quality of vinyl used. If anything is leftover on glass though, a razor with windex makes short work of it.
