  1. I have three Lyretails I purchased from reef escape. The largest is transitioning to male and very little aggression. I think it helps they were all very small when I purchased them and they were qt’d together. If they are qt’d separate one can start to transition to male and thus more aggression.
  2. Starting a new tank worked for me...?
  3. Give them a call, you can place your order and pay over the phone. I bought a bunch of snails and food last week. Call when you’re there and they’ll set it on the counter for you.
  4. I have the new one. I wanted a warranty if I was spending the money.
  5. I was on the fence but ultimately pulled the trigger. I really like the ability to monitor my tank remotely. The safety features also give me peace of mind....heartbeat, heater shutoff light shutoff etc.... I would like one for my new tank as well just need to get the $$$$
  6. I personally like having one place for everything. I wouldn’t always click if things were separated and even if I’m not in the market for something doesn’t mean I won’t buy it if I see it for a great deal.
  7. I have a 125 gallon SPS dominant tank. I started with leds and had similar issues. Everything was growing, heathy but color would change significantly from the other members tanks I got them from. Blue corals would turn red and green, red corals turned pink. So I switched to 60in ATI 6 bulb. I can grow SPS on the bottom of the tank now, but I still don’t have great color pop, probably need to get the reef brite. Much better growth and a little better color for me with T5’s. I would try to up your Alk a hair and do the T5 retrofit. Also make sure your tank isn’t too clean.
  8. Woke up this morning to find my red dragon acro lost 80+ % of its flesh overnight. I know people say they are sensitive, but I’ve never had a problem before. All parameters tested fine. Alk, Ca, Mag. Phosphate and nitrates same as always. Only thing my apex showed out of the ordinary was my ORP was high 451 yesterday for about and hour. My ORP is usually high though. No evidence of pests, and all other acros look happy. Any thoughts? Going to do a water change later today and frag and superglue what I can to hopefully save some of it.
  9. What type of doser? Brand etc.... what specifically do you need help with?
  10. I can hook you up with as much birdsnest as you need. Tanks looking great, love the wrasses.
  11. Thanks, pictures definitely look similar to what I have.
  12. Any idea what this guy is? It’s one of my favorite, but haven’t seen anything mainstream like it. Looking to frag soon, trying to figure out what to call it other than unknown acro. It’s mostly reddish in color.....best pic I could get with my phone. Thanks
  13. Thanks for continuing to be awesome. For dissolving coraline algae I don’t have white vinegar, but I have bags of citric acid if you need any.
  14. Really up to you....corals look happy and healthy. Looks good to me, but whatever makes you happy, you look at it everyday not us.
  15. I’ve used it several times over the years. Never had any issues with corals or inverts. I also let my slimmer run without the cup. On a tank with no skimmer just ran a bubbler. As other mentioned I think oxygenation is the key to success with Chemiclean.
  16. @madweazl where did you find them with free shipping? Thanks
  17. Reef escape and Supreme reefs are my go to suppliers. Clean tanks, healthy livestock and super helpful staff.
  18. I’d love to see it too if anyone has one.
  19. Obviously everyone’s experience will vary, but if you subscribe to the Paul B method your fish can probably survive the plague. I haven’t dealt with ich in years, but I managed it in the past, with no casualties. Just kept the water clean and fish well fed. Every once in a while I’d see a white spot or two but fish never seemed to care and were all good when I donated them back to the lfs.
