  1. Very cool! Might be worth the investment. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Iv had good results with Brightwell. I’m only running a 29gal and 14gal biocube bi-weekly WC so the cost isn’t to crazy. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Have you had good results with Instant Ocean? I used it for a little while and my corals never really popped. I switched to Brightwell neon marine everything seems to be much happier. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. WOW it looks great! Maybe you can Tell me how you set up your pod farm? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Do I NEED a refugium to keep/breed pods? All the info I’ve found just puts the two together but doesn’t really specify if you need one. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. That’s great! I’m prone to buy CB rather then wild Live stock to begin with. I’ll definitely look up that YouTube channel. I’m still doing my research to see if one would be the right fit for my tank. I hope so, Iv wanted one sense I got into the hobby. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. How long have you had yours? I have a small place don’t think I’d be able to set up a second tank dedicated to train one. Do you know much about buying them already trained? Any reputable places? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Has anyone had positive experience with feeding trained Mandarin? Iv always wanted one but never able to sustain a small refugium in the back of my 29 biocube to farm pods. What are your thoughts and experiences? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. That’s awesome. I’ll get behind that. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Gota love that overnight delivery through amazon. Had some downtime this morning so I got it all hooked up. The tank just had the dule 50/50 white/blue halogen lights in the hood before. But like I said, we had a power surge, out AC went out, the basest burnt out, and the tank crashed. The videos on YouTube about the Hipargero light were very good and the par levels seemed good for a small take like ours. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. First off I’d like to thank people for help and donations getting my fire station tank back up and running. We still have stuff to do but it’s on the right track. So after many suggestions, debates, an research I decided to go with the Hipargero Aqua Knight A029 off Amazon. It has great reviews and for a budget tank it’s $67! So far I’m very impressed. It has a sleek look and easy set up. The white/blue lights are adjustable somewhat but the color really pops. The rear clamp for the light arm would not fit over the plastic rim of the Biocude though. I knew I wanted to cut the hood to make it fit so it didn’t matter. I’ll post more reviews later with the progress of coral/anemone growth. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. That’s awesome dude! Looking forward to seeing the progress. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Most LFS have RODI or mixed salt water you can buy by the gallon. You can also get RODI sets that you can hook right up to your Faucet at home that are fairly affordable. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. How’s the set up so far? I’m rebuilding a 14 gal biocube that I’m thinking of going Nems only but Iv heard LED arnt great for them. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. I just started back up with the group as well. Glad to see you posting again. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. One of the ballasts went out on the 14gal biocube I have set up at my firehouse. I’d like to do a LED conversion to reduce power and heat but definitely on a budget. Anyone have recommendations or links? Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. I agree. They are a great part of a clean up crew so unless they are causing some sort of problem I usually just leave them. Reducing the amount you feed the tank or start direct feeing corals/fish can help cut them back. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Last time I did that I was a teenager. Followed a rabbit down some hole, drank a potion, ate a bunch of oysters, found an annoying cat, got absolutely no help from a Caterpillar, and had some crazy lady try and cut off my head. [emoji38] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. I am a paramedic and set up a 14gal biocube at my station. A lot of people from WAMAS donated equipment/stock for the tank and we are very grateful! We Have a clown, Wheeler goby, pistol shrimp, RBT nem, and a few corals (softies). The tank has been running for a while now. I do 5 gal water changes about once a month and keep a sponge filter with a bag of carbon in the media area. I bring the water in from home. Everyone loves the tank but knows not to touch it without my explicit instructions. Iv been lucky Iv heard some horror story of some peoples office tank experience. My recommendation is to just keep it simple. Low bio load and hardy live stock that can tolerate permitter swings if you’re late on a WC. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Funny, they have been in a small batch on a rock that I got when I first set up my tank 4 years ago. They never left that one area until about 6 months ago and BOOM, they started taking over. After the suggestion today I sucked as many of them up with the water change I did today. Broke the rocks up and took the one out I wanted them off of. Picked as many as I could off with tweezers then scrubbed the rock with a brush. After that I rinsed it off and scrubbed it again in fresh RODI water. We’ll see how well it works. 21. I was hoping to find a way without removing the rock, they are all glued together. Well, looks like I have some work ahead of me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  23. I have a colony of mushrooms starting to run rampant in my tank. Anyone have suggestions on removing them from unwanted areas? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Yeah I do 5 gal water changes weekly, sometimes biweekly if Iv been busy. I’m just always looking for the best way to maintain good parameters. Iv had trouble keeping SPS corals in the past. I have a monti that is doing fine but lost any others Iv tried. Softies have had no issues.
  25. I tried to turn the middle chamber into a refugium but the chaeto kept breaking down. Have any thoughts? The media basket was top: sponge filter, middle: Chaeto, bottom: carbon. With an LED light on the back. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
