1. My duncans will stay closed for apparently no reason for a few days, then I will see a new baby bump. Corals are finicky sometimes params are fine but they close up just cause they feel like it. My 2 cents.
2. I had one that lost surface area like that. I didn't mess with any parameters bc everything else looked fine. Ended up growing back all the lost tissue and is doing fine.
3. I think this is a reefers rite of passage. Everyone has a "I thought my shrimp died but it just molted" moment
4. Go nanobox, period. Dave Fason is out of NC and he does amazing work. I have a mono hooked up to a stormx and it is just phenomenal. No I get no commish but I always plug his lights because they are that good.
5. When Avast designs something new and useful, it's like they have their own greenback printing press! I want a frozen auto feeder too my Amex is ready now lol.
6. This was my old skimmer and reactor setup before going full zeo http://youtu.be/7zBDN5XXNnU
7. Here is the post with the pic of ugly skimmate from one of my previous skimmers.
8. Ricky bobby the clownfish hosted this koralia 425 for a long time before he switched up to a duncan. http://youtu.be/XjPLNVVTTBI
9. Wow, that is one sweet set up. I can't wait to move so I can get things moving on a much bigger tank.
10. This one has two generic fleabay basswood airstones in it, run off of a cheap two outlet pump I picked up from QR. You could get a luft pump, but depending on your application you might need all that power.
11. LOL I just dumped out two weeks this morning, stunk so bad I didn't take a pic. It was "dark tan". I'll snap one next time. I did post a picture in a previous post regarding zeozyme of my collection, that was an older design skimmer. That skimmate was straight black lol.
12. The title says it all, if you run a nano reef with a DIY bottle skimmer, give it a little tilt too boost production. Right now its dialed in wet but I usually skim a bit drier. The collection bottle stinks so bad I did not want to film near it!
13. LOL WWI reefing! The germans are the ones who pioneered it...
14. This is why I don't trust Yelp.
15. My goby Sunny in his favorite spot at sunrise. His shrimp is off building somewhere I'm sure...
16. Yea, to be honest, it was my fiancee more than me that was affected when he died. I had to make a little coral feeding shield out of the top of a coke bottle when I target fed my corals, otherwise the shrimp would rip the food out of the corals mouths! On another smellier note, in a hobby where there is no shortage of disgusting smells, dead cleaner shrimp are near the top.
17. That is the only one that I don't use. I need to get me another little blue bottle!
