  1. They look just like those. Before I start googling, they are stuck on a tiny rock my ricordea came on. Can I just pull the rock out and pick them off?
  2. I've done peroxide dips on zoas with success. Anybody have luck with ricordea?
  3. I have a ricordea that has been thriving, however today I noticed a bunch of worm like things. Are these aiptasia? I know it is kind of hard to see, I'll try to get another pic. Thanks!
  4. It would be good for a fuge color temp wise, but might be overkill. Remember those halides run really hot and will raise water temp. Also they use a ton of electricity, I know they would be free for you but the cost to run them might be a little high for a fuge light.
  5. 4200k will fuel algae growth.
  6. Those seachem ammonia alerts aren't that reliable. I had a freshwater tank with one a few years back that said I was in the green, when I checked with a saifert I was at 5ppm. Just saying
  7. Not with Steve and Vince. They are great owners that truly know how business works

  9. From the album: Fish

    My 2 false percs.
  10. I made a small diy skimmer for my 10g nano, but I have 3 SPS in there. I do 10 percent water change each week as well.
  11. Yea I need to shorten it a bit but it is still filling with foam, so im leaving it alone for the time being. You can adjust where the tube is in the tank or sump but not the water level in the tube with this design.
  12. And its making foam. I won't post instructions b/c I'm on my phone and a a simple Google search shows tons of diy plans for a skimmer just like this.

    DIY Nano Skimmer

From the album: My 10g nano reef beginnings

My DIY nano skimmer is working well
  15. You could use the dualbox to possibly use one unit. $450 Here is some par info i googled quickly http://www.flickr.com/photos/63309413@N05/6026157114/ If you email Dave he seems to be pretty receptive to helping to customize your setup. david@nanoboxreef.com I chose him because I really don't feel like doing any more DIY in the near future. Especially LED lights, arduino, etc. I've ready your thread and you def are a DIY expert, I like DIY but just don't have the time.
  16. Went with the monobox from Nanobox. Really excited, the orphek on the ikea gooseneck was pretty, but I was going to have to get another lamp because just having the one fixture in the middle was not enough. Pretty good deal, includes the storm controller. http://nanoboxreef.com/
  17. Quantum reefs rocks! Thanks so much, I'll come by tomorrow. The SPS I have is looking decent under the 5000k I have as the temporary fix. The zoas & ricordia don't seem to care.
  18. I bought the Home Depot bulb today as a temporary fix. Was running the orphek prior since day one. I based the build from this thread, they used an ikea lersta lamp which I already had. http://www.nano-reef.com/topic/267197-orphek-pr-25-led-pendants-now-available/
  19. My pr25 recently crapped out on my nanoreef and I'm thinking about stevesleds, specifically one of the 99% complete solder less kits. Suggestions for a hood or some kind of mount would be awesome. I want to do as little DIY as possible. Also I would like some of the LEDs to be UV. Right now I have SPS in the tanks and all that is there is a 5000k Home Depot bulb I bought as a band aid. See the attached for reference. Standard 10 gallon black frame pet store tank.
  20. So ironically, my orphek pr25 pooped out on me today. I'm thinking about getting a kit from Steve's LEDs.
  21. This thread kinda turned me off the jardunio. I've read other examples of the code for it wetting the bed in the forums. It could be that they are using the free software that is available without a donation.
  22. I'm interested in this build as well. Using this relay.
  23. I've also thought about just forgetting the relays and using these.
  24. This is exactly what I want to do! Is this relay good for running an Orphek PR-25? I think its 25 watts. I also have my 50 watt heater & Koralia 425 I would run on it.
  25. Its the really nice on in Fairfax they built a few years ago. Right by my work. I remember when they first opened Emeril was taping a show there. I have a friend that works there, he said someone checks out the machine about once a week. Not bad for 44 cents. I don't really know about other Whole Foods, this is the only one I go to because it is freakin awesome.
