  1. Not sure what these corals circled in red are called...can you help? Thanks #1 #2 #3 #4 #5
  2. Target feed the claim if you use phytofeast in a 20g. That should help limit the cyano, I would think anyway.
  3. "The corals were confiscated in March and donated in June" If they were alive when confiscated, I hope they were taking care of them prior to being donated. I didn't realize Birdsnest was endangered and illegal. If they are, why are we able to purchase them online?
  4. Mine set itself in a hole in a rock that was in the center of the tank, 7 inches from the top of the water line, and little water flow. The light fixture is 6 inches above the water line. It bubbled right up and my Clarkii loved it. The Clown slept in it all day. One time I thought the RTBA ate the Clown because it looked like it was inside the RBTA. I think I was so used to not having any flow. Now that I have flow and things are changing, i'm thinking it's changing for the worse.
  5. So my new WP40 is causing issues. My RBTA is deflating and I think it's because there is too much water movement happening in my tank. I moved him to the opposite side of the tank in a corner so hopefully he'll fluff back up. I've attached the before and after installing the WP40 pics. RBTA before the WP40 installed RBTA after the WP40 installed
  6. Wow, Leonard was very nice looking. Sorry for your loss. It's crazy how we get so attached to these little critters. I never thought it could happen. You'll be fine in time. Welcome to WAMAS!

  8. +1 I joined before both of them and don't have half the number of posts they have on here. I think I need to turn it up a bit. In regards to FFE, I got quite a few frags too. So much fun and can't wait for the next one!
  9. Yay - I got it to work. One of the cords became unplugged I ended up going to Virginia Stain and Glass for a new skinnier soldering iron tip and it worked fine. I did short myself when I ordered LEDs from Logan so if anyone has 4 - 480nm blue LEDs they would want to sell or swap with the extras that I have, let me know. Thanks
  10. Ok, so I bombed I think. I cleaned the tip and I was able to swap 1 LED bulb (row 1 column 5) and it lit up! My issue now is that all the even LED bulbs on row 1 and the odd bulbs on row 2 do not light up. I don't think I got a good connection when I soldered it down since my iron tip is too thick. I need to buy a pencil tip bit for the soldering iron tomorrow and try again. Anyone know where soldering iron tips are sold? Home Depot maybe? I bought my iron off eBay so don't know of anywhere locally. If all else fails, I can ship it back to Reefbreeders I guess. Lessons learned so far: 1. buy a good pair of tweezers that will hold onto the little LED bulb without slipping 2. clean the tip of the soldering iron 3. use a pencil tip bit (or a thin bit) on the soldering iron 4. buy a magnifying glass to identify the - (negative) sign on the little LED bulb
  11. I think the tip needs to be cleaned. I'll clean the tip tomorrow and post my results. Thx
  12. Anyone out there in WAMAS land have advice how to swap LEDs out? I have Reefbreeder's Photon32 and am trying to swap out some LEDs. I tried to do it using a 100 watt soldering iron but my iron wouldn't melt the solder. Thanks
  13. Here's a link where this guy looks like to have taken time to post about algae scrubbers. Glanced over it and looks like he did a good job, mainly because he post pictures. Hope it helps. http://www.aquariumadvice.com/forums/f20/algae-scrubber-basics-163817.html
  14. Who here has been divorced because of the tank? I'm pretty dang near close! I need to stop messing with my tank so much but it's so much fun! Whenever my partner and I get in an argument, most times I say "at least I'm not at the bar drinking all night." Hello, my name is Frank and I'm a fish-tank-aholic.
  15. RIP BENNY (DOD 8/24/2013) Benny was missing for the past 3 days. I tore down the tank and found him in the overflow last night ALIVE! I was very happy last night and in such a great mood because it was a recovery mission rather than a search and rescue. I should have learned last night and built a screen to cover the top of the tank (which i'll be doing today).This morning, I found him on the floor. Such a great guy fish. He had a human personality that made you want to watch him all day and try to figure out what he was thinking. Ate out of my hand all the time too. He'll be missed greatly. If you wish to send condolences, they can be sent to me in the form of LPS, Softies, Acans, Hammers, or reef safe fish. {{sniff sniff}}
  16. What would be the quietest brand out there? I have a Quietone 2200 and its not so quiet.
  17. Has anyone heard if an Apex will work with an IT2080? I have a couple emails I into to Reefbreeders but haven't got a response yet. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 4
  18. Hi Tshaner. Welcome. Everyone I've met so far on WAMAS have been really nice so feel free to ask questions as needed. We are all here to help :-) I just bought the Evergrow IT2080 but haven't hooked yet. I'll let you know how it turns out. I had 2MH & 4 T5HO Actinics on my 90 gallon and I wasn't happy. I think it was too much light. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 4
