  1. It seems to make sense. What I am not sure of is if you can run the same profile for different outlets simultaneously or if you would have to have both a blueLED_0.10 and a whiteLED_0.10. I don't know the answer but it would be something to look out for if things act funny.
  2. Dave, if you turn on the outlet manually via the dashboard, is there anyway for it to default to a certain profile? Mine just seems to go to max (sorry about the hijack).
  3. You need to define an advanced profile like TenPercent and set the max intensity at 10% and In the outlet say If Time 08:00 to 20:00 Then Ten Percent
  4. What exactly do you want it to do? If you can describe it in plain English, maybe we can translate it into Apex-ese (assuming that your 0-10V interface is communicating correctly with the VDM).
  5. I just realized that my post was not pertinent to you... I have seen people control DIY LED kits over at ReefCentral but I think it depends on the input parameters of your device and how you are triggering. If no one else here chimes in, could you try the Neptune Systems forums?
  6. I just reread your post. If it's programming, I can help a little, but if it's how to interface a DIY LED from scratch, that's way over my head, LOL.
  7. How about the advanced programming example on page 5: http://www.neptunesystems.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/VDM_manual.pdf Basically you set the outlet to follow different profiles under given circumstances. I usually program a profile first and name it something like DayWhite and set the lighting parameters (40%, 0 ramp up/down, for example) and then under the VDM outlet put If Time 15:00 to 21:00 Then DayWhite. I'm not sure if that helps...
  8. Thanks. No, it's a 12" 7.5G cube I had from a prior project. I just got my Reef Octopus BH50 and so far it really rocks! Great build quality and the pump's Venturi seems very effective. Not too loud either.
  9. Oh, man, I feel your pain. Yes, indeed. Sumps are absolutely horrible, terrible things. NO SUMP FOR YOU!
  10. I stand corrected.
  11. I will not try to convince or persuade you :p but I would like to hear your boss' reasoning, lol.
  12. Royal gramma, six-line wrasse, watchman.
  13. Those dimensions are really cool. Will it fit on the old stand?
  14. Yes. I will be moving it behind the wall (there is a closet on the other side of the drywall).
  15. Is the fuge going to take all of the sump flow? When I used to run fuges, I had them isolated with lower flow from a T off the return.
  16. It's been a slow process. I just transferred my zoas from my pico in to see how they fare, but I haven't really arranged them nicely yet. I'm probably going to have SPS up high and zoas down low. I need to clean up the cabinet wiring and eventually add a door. The Nano Herbie is working really well. I found out I can't use the ebay SC-65 skimmer at my low sump water level. I'm going to get a Reef Octopus BH50.
  17. I'll get a video up, I promise... It's not really as much as the overflow only that makes less noise, it's also the return into the sump. No air gets into the return line at all so there are no bubbles, no noise, no gurgling, and IMHO, best of all, less salt creep. I can't even tell that water is moving in my sump. It's so different from my prior durso's. Of course, it's only been a couple of days so I don't know how much of a pain it will be to keep Herbie fine tuned, so we shall see.

I have to give credit to a guy with goals!
  19. I will take some pix today. Perhaps post a "silent" video.

Really looking forward to your new build!
  21. Wow, I am so happy that I decided to go with a Herbie overflow. It was a bit more work compared to a glass-holes but it is totally silent. I know this is not front page news, but this is my first Herbie and I am impressed!
  22. Google herbie overflow and bean animal overflow for the quietest. The bean animal has the most safeguards. Also check out glass-holes.com. Drilling is not hard once you get the nerve to do it, Lol.
  23. Gosh, I remember the days when they said keeping a clam in a pico/nano was impossible. How times have changed. Looks great!
  24. It look like them type of thing that if someone tells you the little tricks up front, it will save a lot of time wasted by trial and error. A class would be cool!
