  1. Some of my sps corals turned very pale after switching from a diy led fixture to a 6x24w power module. I assume this was caused due to a light shock? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. I need to purchase ATI bulbs for my Powermodule unit, but black friday is around the corner. Question is, does stuff like this go on sale? Does anyone remember last year's black friday?
  3. I dont really have anything against leds but they did not work for me on certain types of coral. I am getting more into high end SPS and they are not cutting it. I have had two DIY fixtures and used mostly CREE Leds. My last unit had 44 leds (see the DIY section) and I received great growth on chalices, LPS, zoanthids, etc. but no acropora's, millis and some other highend SPS. I have had milli's & Acro that are 1" for over a year, good color but no growth, hopefully I can get them to grow now with ATI, a proven fixture. Another issue is the Shadowing issue, most of my birdsnests SPS would only look great if you look at them from the top but not from the front (they look brown. I know people that have leds and do have good success growing high end sps coral but I gave it a try for 4+ years and finally gave up....
  4. These are amazing fixtures! Too bad i cant afford a hybrid, they are like $1000 for a 24" unit Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  12. Yes, going zeovit for a few months i have seen some improvement on the coloration of the majority of the corals but growth is pretty much the same, maybe its still too early to tell. Changing from wp25 to mp10wes was a good move because these are more consistent in the flow, the wp25 had to be clean for it to perform as intended. Removing the sand was needed because i wanted higher flow and it caused a sand storm. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Changes Made: - took off the sand - no more chaeto - full zeovit - removed yellow tang - replaced WP25 with MP10WES Plans for 2015 -Metal Halide 150w and current led setup or ATI 6x24" T5 sunpower unit -add another MP10WES
  14. My tank's pictures from 10-31-2014 (halloween)

  16. Thanks for the suggestions guys, for some reason these solutions for me didnt work. The aiptasias came back with revenge! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. I have also done some research on it and people say it sucks.
  18. Has anyone have experience killing unwanted pests such as aiptasia with a 1w+ lazer? I have an aiptasia problem and now that my tank is full zeo, its getting out of control. I have tried several batches of peppermint shrimps & copperband fish but they have all died on me. I am exploring the possibility of getting one of these lazers or get some berghia's nudibranches but I keep hearing people that they put them on their tanks and they just dissapear... The plus on the lazer is that I can also eliminate unwanted polyps from rocks such as mushrooms and xenia. The bad is that is dangerous and could cause damage to skin, eyes, plastic, etc.. Any input?
  19. Because they are suppose to make you laugh but they dont! Lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. not for me
  21. I just cleaned mine & put it back at the maximum setting (like it was) and frogspawn went flying into my nem. lol
  22. mine is almost full of coraline and I do scrape algae every now and then but I almost never do a deep clean on it.
  23. I have a Jebao WP25 in my 22g nano and when I first introduced it to the tank, water was being thrown out of the tank due to its power. Now, months later, I have it on the highest setting and the same behavior does not occur. Are there any known issues with these pumps?
  24. That beach is not the best for snorkeling imo, you need to go south like miami, keys, etc. take a 3day cruise! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
