  2. Could anyone share the specs on their apex fusion power supply? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  3. What a build! Your buttons are brilliant. I’ve said to at least two other reefers in the past we need an “oh sh*#” button on the wall next to the DT. I’m hoping Alexa and Siri are coming into the picture soon for Apex. “Hey Siri-feed the fish” :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  4. Trav is just limestone, so hey why not Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  5. Yes I recall chatting. Mine is not starphire glass, unfortunately. Had to confirm that as the prior seller was convinced. Did you buy isaac's? I don't have a YouTube channel. Next up is finish plugging the old drain/return lines in the bottom of tank, flush cut my first pieces of rock and begin rockscaping Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

  7. So, even though I'm building a house and intended to wait until it was done to get started on a new tank, I'm jumping back in. Building it in apartment and will relo once the house is ready this summer. I have a few questions on drain and return sizing as I ripped out the old overflow and installed a new Synergy Reef 16" Shadow with 1.5" drains. Issues/questions: 1)I discovered my ecotech vortech m1 only has a 3/4 return but I drilled 2 1" return bulkheads. It should be more than enough turnover, right? 30 gallon sump and 105 tank. But would there be issues if I step up to T 2 1" returns? 2)The other issue is my sump. It has 1" drain holes into socks and fuge. If I want to keep 1.5" drains, I need to drill bigger holes in the pretty sump lid (ruby elite). What should I do? 3)What's the best way to seal the original 4 drain/return holes in the base? I was going to put bulkheads in, glue short pipe/caps, and drill holes in some rock to cover. Any other thoughts?
  8. I tried mag but it's sooo much. What worked for me was the Red Sea stuff. That and pulling rock and spraying with peroxide. It was so thick and out of control. Back to zero. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

  11. Sometimes the engineer calls for us to shift the joists for higher liveload or plumbing locations. What program is that floorplan done in? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. I think you're right on your points. It's expected. If I remember, wasn't monkiboy initially offering a 3-year warranty? I've been out of the game for awhile so I don't remember. Either way, keep us posted on how your return process goes and how quickly ERC facilitates getting you what you need. Good luck. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. That's awesome and a great relief on behalf to hear. If I recall you kind of spearheaded taking over the group buys for the evergrow through the club, and it's great to hear you're making it really easy to resolve these problems for us. It's such a relief to have a vendor that's more a part of our club that isn't just about making the money on the sale, that the service and support after is most important. It goes without saying that it goes a long long way for future purchases. Kudos! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. IMO ERC should work with you to stand behind this. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  16. When it comes to lighting there is such a thing as too much light. Make sure to not bake your Acan colony. If the coral is getting too much light you will notice they stay closed up. Moderate light is plenty; too much light can be deadly to your coral. Moderate flow is best as well. When placing the coral it is also important to realize that placed on rock, tank bottom, or sand bed does matter. I would recommend not placing the coral on the sand bottom. I have heard from fellow reefers that sand can get between the polyp and the skeleton and eventually cause the polyp to die. I have never seen this personally but have heard about it a few times. If you choose to place the coral on a bare tank bottom you can expect the coral to grow into a ball shape. This is due to the fact that corals will grow around the skeleton they formed in the middle. This can produce a very neat looking show piece coral but it does hinder the growth rate. To me the ideal placement of the coral is mounted to a rock so that it can have the maximum growth potential and the most natural look. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. my ever grow will nuke just as easy as others. I think I am up to 100% for like three hours. I follow a graduated cycle. I think if it were light it would bleach, no? Curious to hear what Ben BN251 thinks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. I'd have let it relax under 10% for a day or two. And at least 50% change. Anytime you see that open mouth and can see the white skeleton inside it is heading down a bad road. Live and learn. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Did you change the water? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. I'd change water to be safe and eliminate that. 100% LEDs sound too strong to me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. He probably has a noncompete preventing him from doing that for a period of time ctenophore. I see some synergy here in this deal. Cash out, and fill a void for both businesses. What I see is live aquaria now supplying petco with their fish. They will now have a retail distribution outlet, petco finally has a quality supplier (assuming they continue to care about fish health) and perhaps what arrives at petco in the future will not always be breathing hard and covered in white spots like what I saw yesterday. [emoji15] it's no different than a puppy covered in fleas and lesions, and ignoring it. Just because they can't bark doesn't mean they're not going nuts. THATS what we need to lean on drfs about-fix THAT for the hobby. It's sickening to see. Ok I'm getting off this soapbox. [emoji4] $.02 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Among other things I have a tree business and we run chainsaws constantly-I can't even tell you how close we have come on several occasions to danger. Wear safety glasses and ear protection. One of my guys got a piece of wood from the saw cuttings lodged into the white of his eyeball. Because he refused to wear glasses. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. I'm actually talking about the top of the stand that the tank sits on.
  24. I like avast. but i don't have time to build one, and the cs3 is $350. whiiiiich means it's over $250. :D
