1. Oh they did have about six moorish idols! Didn't ask price though.
2. Personally I'd suggest calling if you know what you want and not wasting the gas. Most everything was beat up looking. I agree that stock does change though. That being said a steal is a steal. I dont think ill be making any trips there in the foreseeable future.
3. Haha that's awesome. I'm here now...incredibly unimpressed. Tanks look filthy, livestock unhappy and unhealthy from why I can see, and I just heard that the Achilles I inquired about over the phone monday was $150 when i called and another member just came here yesterday and asked about the same one (only one here) and was quoted $350. No prices on tanks either. Interesting. I'll inquire more but so far I'm not seeing much worth my trip.
4. yah, i spoke with Jos yesterday. I mentioned to him the price of $40 and he acted like they've never been that price (obviously they have or you'd have never bought them there). i was ready to drive there RIGHT now and buy one
5. I'm running the fuge high as that's where the old holes were. To the left it overflows down into the sump, which has 15 gallons of room when I lose power. I tested this before I did it, and the excess water in fuge just goes over into the sump. I have a filter sock on the left overflow. I think I'll change over to a reverse durso on each side and get rid of the other filter sock for ease of maintenance. I have some rubble on that side. I like that design! It seems intelligent.
6. that must have been a H-E-double hockey sticks of a long time ago on the achilles tangs--i just called there and they are $150 each.
7. Reverse dursos direct from mr durso are on both sides already.
8. Hey how can I get this to settle down in my fuge? I don't want to add rock if possible on that side, I was hoping for some modification.
9. Great read. I just want a LOW nutrient system as in >5. AKA OLIGOTROPHIC
10.

Haha zyg...like you dont know zeovit..... Yes zeovit was another I was considering and researching. I've read comments from reefers for years of how their tanks have never looked so good. Im sure one question would be in relation to the reactors-what needs to be different about them vs the bio pellets or gfo/carbon?
11.

Yes me too- Apparently the stuff has to build up on the pellets enough to slough off and be skimmed out. I'd guess a healthy daily or weekly micro Bacter7 dosing would help... Gosh, decisions decisions decisions...
12. Which one and How big is your system Vadim?
13. So if it's 500ml for 100 gallons and I have 1.82x where x=500, don't I need roughly 7 cups of pellets in my reactor?
14. Need help...182 gallon system. How big of a reactor do I want and approximately how many grams of pellets should I be tumbling? I only want a basic reactor so ill take recommendations for appropriate reactor. I'm also going to need same answers for carbon and gfo- how big of a reactor and how many grams of each?
15. The official 40 gallon line is 1.5" below the top of the can. The 30 gallon line is the top of where the can flares out.
16. Ok. Ill have to figure out where the 5 gallon mark is on the bucket but that's easy.
17. Hey I have about 50 gallons of water at 0tds from my typhoon 3 extreme already done. You're welcome to it if it helps!
18. When you say fresh do you mean like clams? Bc the sand I got smells like the ocean.
19. Hi everyone. I have a float valve for my 44g and I want to drill the hole at the correct depth so that I can use easy salt measurements and end up w exact water. Suggestions on how far to measure down, tips, tricks, etc?
20. Really great read. Any updated corals and scape shots?
21. Hahaa ok ok no more windex tht was rubble anyway lol. He's inside a hole unfortunately so maybe I can just superglue him in there?
22.

ok thanks for the info guys. I will officially ixnay the asterinas and harlequin idea. I love fire shrimp. Such awesome personalities. I have three peppermint shrimp right now, and one fire. On a related note, the odd thing is the peppermint linger by the supposed aiptasia, but wont take a bite. In the temporary tank they took out the few aiptasia I had in there, but those were glassy and clear. This one is brown. I assume there's nothing I can do to encourage this, right?
23. Sorry i meant does anyone have any asterinas, not shrimp. Ive done a fair bit of reading on them and was hoping I could get ten established in my reef and then add shrimp down the road, sort of a process. I'm having a tough (expensive) time with my mandarin only eating tigger pods, and dont want to make same mistake with a pair of harlequins. So yes, if by culture u mean add some to my display tank and see if they multiply, then yes. I think I read they sometimes will eat arms of the chocolate chip star so I guess if push came to shove Id do that but I want to go the more natural route-no rush on the shrimp.
24. Whats the clear snail? Oh the rock was actually rubble in my temporary tank. I'd also like asterinas Because I plan on adding a harlequin pair. Anyone have any?
