  1. Just a question about space.... Calcium reactor, KW reactor, ATO res, etc.?
  2. Great idea and happy to contribute! Swimboy123's tank. 250DD with 2x 250 HQI and 6x 54W T5s. Reeflo Dart and MP40's with Oceanstreams for circulation.
  3. I agree with Dave W and Smallreef. You should be fine and are you really planning to jump next to your tank on a regular basis? " My clowns laid eggs! Yippee!"
  4. text sent late at night or early in the morning, depending on your perspective. Thanks!
  5. So I'm guessing the overflows are on the left side? Is this a peninsula tank?
  6. My arms are long enough for a 4' tank, provided I have on swim trunks and am equipped with a snorkel
  7. yeah, so, ahhh, what was the current owner's name and number again?........
  8. Dude! Freakin' get it, pull out the fake crap insert, and make that one bada$$ real reef tank that those hacks on "Tanked" could never hope to accomplish!
  9. I'd like a couple if you wouldn't mind once they are of the right size. Send me a PM and we can figure out a mutually acceptable price when the time comes. THanks!
  10. Thanks Piper27, I really appreciate that. I'm not running the nitrate reactor currently but will be setting it up soon. As far as the pieces that you got from me...... You know that my next target is that efflo! Better get that thing growing so I can take 3/4 of it!!! Also, don't monitor phosphates or test nitrates. Haven't done any test on my system other than salinity and occasionally strontium and calcium.
  11. If you let it stay on the glass then it will get back on the rocks. One of the ways of self-propagation is to drop buds in the water column to be dispersed by the currents. My advice is to decide whether you want them or not, and let that dictate your actions. I had them once before and they totally took over my entire tank.
  12. Hey, I'm in the Woodbridge area. Any particular questions that you have? Let me know if you need anything. Seeing as your tank is only about a year old, I may have a frag or two as well if you are interested. Let me know!
  13. I'm thinking that might be my only option. Anyone else have a nice trick? Thanks Dave!!
  14. So I have an electric rabbitfish that is starting a lot of fights with the other fish and is really starting to tick me off. Can anyone suggest a good way to get him out short of draining the tank? I have used acrylic fish traps before but don't have one handy. For smaller fish, I typically use the 2 liter bottle method but this fish is much too big for that. Help!!
  15. Welcome to the club! I'm in Woodbridge as well. If you need a frag or two to get your tank started then let me know!!
  16. Looking good man! Keep the posts coming!
  17. If you need some help, don't hesitate to let me know. I'm heading over to Sunwyrm's tomorrow morning and can swing by around 12:30 or so. I don't have any razor blades though, just checked.
  18. If you would like, I'll come over and do it for you. Then tell you it died and put it in my own tank!
  19. Thanks everyone! Much appreciated and sorry about the delay with the pics!
  20. It's better to cut the byssal threads as far from the clam's shell as possible. It still might get infected but the clam will stand a better chance. Use a razor blade if possible
  21. I'm glad I stuck around as well. There was a lot of stuff going on earlier this year and I kind of lost interest, but that has turned around!
  22. As far as my SPS, I've picked up various pieces from people and a lot of my colonies started out as frags or micro colonies. A good number of my pieces came from Piper27 and Corsi1330 and they were much appreciated!
