  1. wow I just read this thread. I glad everything went ok, Tom. Hope you feel better soon. Wishing you a speedy recovery.
  2. Time for quick yearly update to this thread. I should so more frequent updates but I never get to it. Tank is doing ok though its been on autopilot for most of the year. I still do 2 part dosing (174ml each/day) and maintain the alk at around 7.5. Here are some of the pics which I recently took and the video to go with it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y4L7xz1lT2s
  3. Always healthy fish at great price. I wish I had a bigger tank to add more fish especially the beautiful lyretail anthias.
  4. Yes, my copperband liked my meat corals (Acanthophyllias) and I had to take them out of my tank. Other than that he hasn't touched anything
  5. Wow thats a lot to deal with. I really hope the tree survives. Hope everything is sorted before the big event
  6. This review has been long overdue as I got my first fish from Marco (ERC) back in December of 2014. I first got 3 fathead anthias and a pair of flame wrasses, then couple of months later I got couple of leopard wrasses and trio of Wheelers shrimp goby. Finally couple of months ago I got my final fish, a copperband butterfly. Every single one of those fish came healthy, eating frozen food right out of the bag and they are still doing great. Marco has always been so easy to work with and he also helped in making sure that some of the shy fish went into the tank first so that they have time to adjust and come swim in open water. I don't have space to have a QT tank so having someone like Marco @ ERC who does the necessary QT and makes sure that the fish are eating frozen food before selling/shipping has been really great. Here are the recent video of the copperband eating frozen food. These fish are known to be finicky eaters but not this one. You might also spot the other fish which I have gotten from ERC in this video https://youtu.be/AJmUTyT0D-M
  7. wow! Looking good Tony. After looking at that Haddoni I feel like I need an anemone only tank . love the angels and the flower petal looks nice. Let me know if you ever decide to frag that one.
  8. It have seen scratches like these on my clowns and I have always assumed them to be related to rubbing against rock etc. The first time I saw it I was terrified but I kept monitoring and saw that the clowns were acting as normal and within a week the scratches were gone.
  9. looking really nice. That bubble tip anemone seems to be doing great in that tank.
  10. looking really nice. I miss having a nano tank now.
  11. Dreaming about corals

  12. I called them and asked them on the timelines as I had submitted my claim on February 1st. Pete - the person who is handling the recall at Hanna said that they are currently processing requests which came in on 29th and it will be 2-3 weeks before I receive my replacement.
  13. Love the fish collection. Something different which I rarely see here.
  14. I don't have any pics but if you are coming for the winter meeting(and pick up your frags) then I am really close to that venue and you can stop by to check out how its been installed. Though I personally have not had any issues with derKroon but I have heard others having some issues but they were resolved by the company. In any case you could also go for Oceans Motions Wavemaker which is similar to derKroon.
  15. Thanks Jaime! Someday I will big colonies like your old tank. Thank you! Thanks. Good question. So on the left side I have mp60 which I run at about 60-70% reef crest mode. This pushes water perfectly fine all around but this also means I really can't place any SPS other than montipora on that first rock structure facing the the front side. The mp40 on the back wall is almost in the center of the tank. I knew how i was going to place the vortechs before I started my build so I knew I will have to have do something to have a flow on the right side as I didn't want to have anything on the right side which would block that view so I have return pump pumping water through derkroon water diverter and all the outlet are pointed to the right side from the top of the tank. The flow is not as powerful as vortech but it does the job.
  16. Thanks Evan. I don't have auto water change on this but I do have it connected to my mixing station in garage as well as connected to my main drain for draining old tank water. So my water change routine is pretty easy where I turn couple of valves and turn on my pump in the garage via APEX to change water. I do at least 20g water change every week. I have done weekly water changes with all my tanks in the past so no different with this one.
  17. Thanks for sharing this as I didn't know about it. Thanks
  18. I have my water changes station in garage. The last two years when the temperatures dropped below 20 for extended period the inside of my garage stayed at around 36. We did get the garage insulated with the kits available at Home Depot.
  19. Marco, without you I wouldn't have all these beautiful fish in my tank. Every single one of the fish I got from you are still in my tank and thriving. I wish everyone would provide quality product and service like you.
