  1. what do you wnat for the light?
  2. What lights are you running and how old are the Bulbs?
  3. I would think the center legs not needed. HOWEVER, maybe the answer would be to shorten them and move them between the horizontal pieces
  4. LOL Tell em the tang was never the same after he came out of my tank!
  5. Dont build the sump till you get the skimmer. Make sure the skimmer sits in the chamber where the water flows in because it needs constant height.
  6. 1st HMMMM I did not use a qt tank for years. Only takes one bad apple to kill off the whole crop. My stepson brought a sick fish home form PETCO and without asking me he put it in my sump. EVERYTHING (all my fish died). However the corals were ok. You will learn the hard way one day if you dont QT. 2nd. I think anyone that has corals (takes years to grow them) will agree. It is also very important to QT your corals. If I lost all my fish again i would be upset, but I can replace them. The liverock and coral I have been growing for years is a different story, if I lost my corals I would prob sell my stuff off as I could not afford to buy replacement and dont know if I can stand taking years to grow it again. 3rd Several members and I basically have a coral bank going. We all share frags (after and or treatment) so if we have problems we dont loose everything!
  7. sigh, sorry! Just loss my wrasse the exact same way, came home, my emergency drain was working (thank god) and had to pull the wrasse out of the system. It was not easy, stuck a shop vac on the side at thetank and had to blow compressed air into the drain at the sump. Broke my heart, he was way cool. He must have been in the drain for a few hours as he was really stuck and no water was geting past him.

  10. This is my 80 gallon rimless frag. Have a 8 bulb ATI sunposer on it and the filtration is shared with my 150 gal deep dimension. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XRFUmXbVTQM Doing pretty well. Only real issue is my Black Sailfin blenny who overcleans my Milli and Green slimer frags. Other then that everything grows very well.
  11. how many gallons of water you have in your system? Ever since i increased my amount of water I have far less problems.
  12. I have a mandarin that eats frozen brine and chopped up shrimp etc
  13. when I have coral issues the first thing I do is a good size water change. How much flow do you have in the tank and what size and lights do you use
  14. hmm 20 gallon tank on a metal stand, good thing it was not my DD
  15. I have one, it is a wonderous fish. Mostley reef safe except he likes to nip at my pest pallys a little, leaves the hard stuff alone. In other words, when he gets bigger and eats the pallies, which are everywhere, he has a job LOL
  16. SIGH I have so many pods in my frag tank that my tangs are covered with them when they first start swimming around in the am and you have to scrape the glass to view the coral. BTW my Manderin is soooo fat and happy!
  17. Oh and about the aptasia, you will have to learn to deal with them, i have them in my tank, but also have things that eat them. Very rare to see one in my tank. Get a few east coast peppermint shrimp.
  18. Grab some chaeto from a fellow reefer and swish it around in your new tank, if it is anything like my chaeto it is chock full of little tidbits your mandirin will love. What area are you in?
