  3. I used to fish a lot in the keys, funny, evertime you catch a cool fish you want to bring him home. Back when I was in my 20s i used to do salt water. My dad had a house in marathon and I was single and went there many times a year. Used to raise eyebrows coming home on the airplane carrying a double six packer in each hand with bags of fish and battery operated bait pumps on them. SIGH can't eve bring a tube of shampoo on the planes anymore! Airline used to be real lax, used to carry my speargun on the plane, they made you stash it away in the coat closet in the front of the plane. Of course gas used to cost less then 60 cents a gallon back then!
  4. P.S. I have one that liked to jump out, and have heard that this is not uncommon with them. The one I had landed in a 10 gallon tank one time on the floor that had a little saltwater in it and was ok. The last time he jumped he landed in the ATO water, that did not end well. Kinda funny he kept jumping in containers with water. BTW having a non wamas cookout on saturday, wamas members welcome with a rsvp. 5. I have had nigers for years, only get rid of them when they get too big. Never had any issues with them in my reef tank. The one I have now has a heck of a good time fighting over the NORI i feed my tangs. HE LOVES IT True You will love that fish.
  6. they run externally, make sure if you have ever taken it apart that you reseal the housing with silicone gasket sealer
  7. aMine was so big took a large kitchen knife to it!
  8. I like a shallow tank. 24 inch is the most i would ever do again. Easy to light and work on. I have a deep dimension 150 and love the tank, just hard to work on at times. Looking for a tank for my LR, want it to be 8 feet long 32 front to back and 24 high
  9. What are you using for a light?
  10. LOL know where to get some frags now!
  11. As far as have other had success, guess it is up to us to decide how to make our toys work for us, just have to get used to a tank of a different type. Been seeing stuff like this outside buisnesses around the reefy areas of our world, why not bring one inside?
  12. Ive looked on youtube and saw a few nice ones. The 300 gallon tank is 5 across and almost like a hottub shape. Saw one person stick a small rubbermaid trash can in the center with the filter built into it. Had sharks (Small) and rays and the fish swam in a circle. I guess as with anything you could make it like you want. Coral or fowler. Easy to drill and cheap. Dc says to put it on blocks, but i sit down in front of the tank and feed them, so 24 inches hght is pretty mice.
  13. it is sooo easy Just make a ovewrflow and I have a etss sump skimmer combo works great. One led light and good to go.
  14. Just dont know yet, but the price for a 300 gallon is $249 and my fish would love it. HMMMMMMM Then there is the plus of not having to clean glass all the time!!!!! I purchased a 180 0ceanic from bengeeee for those fish, but am reallyh liking the interaction with the fish in the lookdown enviroment.
  15. Bought a fowler tank from a friend, do not like a 110 gallon tall so I have rehomed the fish in a stock tank for now. This movie taken shortly after a waterchange. Everyone looks pretty happy, actually surprised the small ones are out so much. Just added the black tang, butterfly and baby emperor. Nice thing is that the stock tank cost $79 at tractor supply or southern states and all I had to do was make an oferflow. Had the sump and light sitting around.
