  6. i have a 30 gallon drilled tank with the curved divider on it. $30 Looks just like any marineland rr tank
  7. Can u drill a feed hole in the sump? I had a small sump and jammed a Aquac ev class skimmer in it, kept the skimmer in the sump and had the pump outside of the sump. Worked very well! What size is your tank?
  8. Tropical lagoon in silver spring has one. Sort of a hole in the wall. but has healthy salt water fish and corals
  9. I had a buddy in the keys had an octo, it was an escape artist. Finally got out a hole the size of a pen. Good size octo too.
  10. Here are some pics starting to frag it up. <iframe width="480" height="360" src="http://s782.photobucket.com/user/gwweber/embed/slideshow/80%20gallon%20frag"></iframe>
  11. Would be more then happy to give your tank a jumpstart. Doing a water change soon and my water is very healthy and I have a lot of rock in my sump that is ready to go. You can replace the rock you use or throw in a few bucks as I am getting ready to order some more. I live in boyds so we are close. I also run multiple tanks off of one sump, it is very easy to maintain that way, but you take the chance of having issues with more then one tank if you have problems. I would not tie the two tanks together till it is totally stocked for at least a month to make sure you don't have any thing in the tank that can harm the 40
  12. Also a good uv steri may help that issue in the qt tank
  13. Serious, you will have to do water changes and use meds. 100 gallons is a very large large treatment tank, maybe you should consider using a tad less water for the treatment tank. What size tank are the fish in now?
  14. !5 years ago I used to raise angels (fresh water) and sell them to the LFS. I kept all the nicest offspring and had a 75 gallon tank with quite a few really outstanding Angelfish in it. While I was on a server install in Buckeystown My stepdaughter (who is severly retarded) decided to feed my fish. My wife left the food within her grasp and she dumpped a whole can of tetramin (the large size) in the tank. My wife decided to do massive waterchanges without using dechlor and proceeded to kill everything in the tank. It eas a devestating loss and I was out of the hobby for almost 10 years after that experience.
  15. Sounds like the start of coralline algea, especially if it is hard. Get used to the idea of a scraper. Snails do ok, but I still have to scrape my tank a few times a week. I really like the Kent scrappers with the changeable yellow blades, they dont tend to scratch the glass.
  16. Here are some fish pics of the tank http://s782.photobucket.com/user/gwweber/slideshow/Tankshots/fishies
  17. Feed him both, would hate to see him eat the apt only and start on your corals because he is hungry for more
  18. If you dont use the stand marineland sells they void the warrenty on the tank or it is greatly shortened.
  19. BTW the light is raised up atm and will be more level with the tank.
  20. Well, now that I have my 150 up and runniing I have turned my attention to my frag tank. Have been using a 30 gallon rimless deepblue and it has been very nice, just kinda small. Upgrading to a 80 gallon Deep Blue Rimless RR Frag tank. It is 48 inches ong 24 inches front to back and 16 inches high. Because it is ain my rec room and i was too lazy to build a stand i purchased a Plywood stand for it as I do not like the pressboard stands the deep blue products sell. I am driving it from my 125 gallon sump on my big tank. I know have almost 330 gallons of water in my system. It is using a mag 9.5 as a return, which I actually had to turn back a little as the water level was too high because the overflow is set up for around 700 GPH. I also am using a 1/2 inch sea swirl, but increased the input line to 5/8 inch for more flow. I may cut back to a mag 7 or some dc controlled pump for the feed pump. I made a PVC light bracket attached to the wall so I can easily swing the light up and out of the way to work in the tank. The only issue I had with the tank is one of the bulkhead fittings leaked. Of course I did not check till after I had the tank 1/3 filled and poured water into the overflow (sigh). I of course had to empty the tank and proceeded to break the nut on the fitting making it tighter, luckily I had a spare fitting. It is togather now and ready for me to make the racks and power up the lights. Using two 165 watt dimmable LED lights, similar to evergrows and same light spectrum. http://www.ebay.com/itm/2pcs-Full-Spectrum-165W-Dimmable-LED-Reef-Coral-Fish-Tank-Aquarium-Light-Lamp-/301203605546?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item462122482a http://s782.photobucket.com/user/gwweber/slideshow/80%20gallon%20frag Alas the shrimpkaboobs were for energyizing the build
  21. How long are you running the lights for
  22. What kind of lighting are you using, in reference to the coral not being as bright.
  23. My gold torch does the same thing, my hammers also do it and so does my frogspawn.
  24. I have a euroreef rs80 in great condition, new impeller. $120 Great skimmer and small footprint. Rated for 80 gallon.
  25. I can not tell by the pics what I would have to do to use the sump to be honest, guess I should not have run my mouth.
