  3. ive been busted by da tangpo My new naso is to big for my 64, but will soon be in my 150
  4. there is nothing wrong with a long hose attached to a strong pump to do your waterchange. I use a 30 foot hose on a mag 5 where i am atm. A mag 5 would do a 100 foot no problem. depending on how high it has to pump.
  5. just wanted to link a pic of my girlfriends tang and tank very happy critters here! http://s782.beta.photobucket.com/user/gwweber/media/OCEANIC/IMG_4677_zpsbe32a803.jpg.html?sort=3&o=6
  6. guess ill change the timers on my fuge and run the light at night
  7. HMMM Anyone know why the ph in my tank will change during the day. Every day it gets higher till I turn the lights off, then goes back to normal.

  9. Never fear. My new house is almost done and I have a 150 gallon Deep Dimension going in the living room. They just have to last two more months. Cycling the rock as I type. Anyone familiar with Vertex illuminia lighting. Still have to decide on my lighting system. Going to have a 150 gallon sump in the basement
  10. Here is a vid of my 64 gallon cube.
  11. Quite some time ago i bought a sensor for a par meter on a group buy here. Anyone familiar with this unit and what is the multiplier to get a par reeding on it. Thks in advance. Another option would be to compare my readings on my vtvm and see what i need to use to get my par. Anyone have a par meter that I can compare in the md rockville gaithersburg area?
  12. I have a light like that on my 29 gallon. The coral in my tank is very very happy. Theonly issue with this light is that is does not have any optics, so a taller tank will prob have issues with light deeper in the tank. http://s782.beta.photobucket.com/user/gwweber/media/tank%20videos/20130223_132803_zpsca248936.mp4.html?sort=3&o=1#/user/gwweber/media/tank%20videos/20130223_132803_zpsca248936.mp4.html?sort=3&o=1&_suid=136217958924403060089614676535 P.S. I swear i have 5 fish in that tank LOL
  13. oops been i while since i have been here. sorry
  14. how long did you have the fish> I had a wonderfull purple tang, very healthy, ate anything, fat and happy. After two months i woke up to find him dead in the rocks. I think this was caused by the way the catch the fish. Prob used something to make him sleep. Sometimes they die right away, some times it takes a long time. I had another tang, a naso that i got from mr coral. He was a puppy dog. Followed me around when i was looking for frags and squirted water at me, sigh, had to buy him. Turned out to be an excellent fish. One day he just quit eating after i had him for a month or two. He was very fat and was waisting away. This all from a fish that ate like a pig. After two weeks of worrying he finally started to eat again and has been doing fine since. We can only controll what goes on in our tanks, but the people who catch these fish are know to use toxins that not only harm the fish but harm the reef also.
  15. i have a ton of mushrooms and zoas in my 64 they dont seam to care much about esch other. Also have a large leather and the zoas live on the stalk. Vids here i swear there are a few fish in the tanks, but i have been playing with the lights to take the vids and they are being @$%#&y
  16. Hi, been busy with life and have not been around lately. Any suggestions for a good led loght for my new 150 deep dimension. My new house will be done in two months and time for a showpiece for my living room. Bought the tank stand and hood, going to put at least a 150 gal sump in the basement. Have pretty much everything for the tank except a good light. Want to grow hard corals. Steve at tropical lagoon has some very sweet fixtures on his 300 gallon deep dimension, but really dont feel like spending $1200.00 on a computerized fixture. Have has some very good luck with some taotronics lights on smaller tanks, very cost effective. Any idea on a good light for a 150 cube? Thanks in advance
  17. Will try to post here woulod love to see some comments https://www.youtube....in?feature=mhee This is my cube, it has grown in since the movie and I have a purple tang now also.
  18. has not set their status

  19. plus you get a lawnmower get a yellow eye tang.
  20. there are quite a few tangs that are very nice for a tank that size.
  21. come on i have a psycho mand and he was picky till i fed him live brine and tricked him into eating frozen. EASY and they are cheap too
  22. lol i did R/C years ago, actually was one of the first people in the D/C area to have a rc10. Back when you could buy a kit without ball bearings with the gold chasis and a resistor speed controll (which got replaces quickly with a Novak) darn wish I could find the person that bought all my old stuff. \ Actually decided to learn to fly R/C helicopters lately, anyone here do that?
  23. i have a 65 cube and use two mp40 s I love it and it they a very large low volume flow all over my tank, prob with a single is that you will have to turn it up a bit faster, at which point they can get noisy and you will have a sand storm in your tank
  24. Damsels can be a PITA, I used to have a perc that would jump out of the tank to bite me.
  25. oh yeah i have a couple healty black and white damsels if you want.
