  1. Belated happy veterans day Paul! Last time I logged into wamas I was on page 49 of 65.... Looks like I have some reading ahead.
  2. Living in Ellicott City, and have been out of the hobby for a while. Just renewed my membership. Wondering what stores or websites are around this area that folks would recommend, or any local hobbyist to 21042? Tried to check out marine depot and saw they don't even exist any longer. I am trying to avoid those trips to Northern Virginia. I have a nice wall in my basement with an unfinished side, with a utility sink... thinking an in wall this go around. The only equipment I have left from the hobby is a refractometer. Can't wait to catch up on tank of the months. Lots of unread posts. Mike
  3. Reducing the surface agitation will reduce it. Not sure you're powerhead setup would allow that. Sometimes people put their return up, but facing it down would help.
  4. Look at that tank. Just look at it. Would you look at it. WOW!
  5. If you decide to get socks again I like the ones from duda diesel: https://www.dudadiesel.com/search.php?query=filter+sock
  6. Go look at a 12k halide lit tank, and you will change your opinion on that led lit tank looking 12k. I would consider that tank 20k. Peoples views seem to have shifted over time, to where 12k is now slightly blue and 20k is windex blue. I think of 12k as more yellow/white (natural sun), and 20k more light blue (thinking like T5 blue+ or halide SE radium). That's just me of course.
  7. Join the forum so you can access the sales pages. To be honest, with your story and that sick setup you will have plenty of people offer you free frags (or very cheap) of soft corals like the ones in your tank prior to the move. If that's your thing. That new setup is so awesome. Love it behind the bar like that.
  8. Yes, that is it. AWI responded to my email. It's a $2 fitting, so not bad at all. Thank you everyone!
  9. What fitting goes there? Is it just a plug so water doesn't come out? I don't remember this as an inlet or outlet.
  10. What do I need to do to fix this, and do I even need to fix it? I am not sure what happened, but it must have broke while moving.
  11. I once got an order and the frag plug was fixed into a piece of Styrofoam, and the frag was dangling nicely upside down in the bag (floating). I thought that was pretty slick. The 1oz cup trick is good!
  12. Good idea...
  13. Looking to setup a nano around 10gal, and I am looking hard at the RapidLED PAR 38 bulb to light the tank. For $79 it seems you can't go wrong, and the led's they use are high quality and in a good ratio. Anyone have experience with this PAR 38 bulb or any others for that matter? https://www.rapidled.com/12-led-par38-bulb-mixed-color/
  14. Where did you get the Rhizo's?
  15. I found something that intrigues me, and would work with a landline (which I don't currently have). https://www.crutchfield.com/p_721FGD0400/Sensaphone-Model-400-Gray.html Worth a look for those wanting environmental monitors for their home (or tank) that won't rely on wifi and/or power being on.
  16. I don't even have a tank! Maybe by 2019 MACNA that will change.
  17. The thing is the train is slower than driving. If I want to take my time I will just drive for a couple hundred in gas round trip. I was just hoping to get there cheap and quick. I guess when looking for three flights instead of just myself cheap is out of the question.
  18. ALAN! See this link for a "slick deal." https://slickdeals.net/f/12841786-amtrak-offers-buy-one-get-one-free-valentine-s-day-sale-book-by-feb-18-2019?sdxt01=2019-02-15+13%3A59%3A23&sdxt06=Adobe+Auto+DA+Curated&sdxt07=526633&utm_source=dealalerts&utm_medium=em-i&utm_term=18&utm_content=13660895&utm_campaign=da_newreg_curated_v2&src=da_newreg_curated_42839791 NEVERMIND, it ended yesterday and travel needed to be done by July.
  19. Perfect setup for your first tank. 40gal breeder with 20gal long sump is really great dimensions to work with. Also, large enough to get some cool fish yet small enough not to be a nightmare to maintain.
  20. Yea, I can't justify flying the three (soon to be four) of us down for $1,300 for just the weekend. And I WON"T drive with a baby and toddler. Oh well. I was just down there last August, and have been to Disney about 14 times now I think. The #1 spot to eat for me this last time was Artist Point with Le Cellier a very close second. Alan, you taking the entire family down?
  21. I just thought why not hit Disney for the weekend and enjoy MACNA 2019. Hotel rates are really good, and I enjoy the Swan very much as a hotel. It's not to bad of a walk to Epcot and you can ride the ferry to Hollywood Studios. Then I went to check flights. For three adults it was going to be $1,300 roundtrip on southwest (or 76,000 points). And this was selecting the least expensive fares. Anyone have cheaper flights they are seeing posted?
  22. Give them my address. I'll make sure you get it...
  23. I like the tunze ato a lot. I appreciate being able to dial down the stock pump for the desired flow. On a small tank, this is a good feature. It does require opening the unit, but it let's you do it. If you really want a different pump you could get a 50ml BRS pump and this OSMOLATOR SWITCHED SOCKET OUTLET hhttps://www.bulkreefsupply.com/tunze-osmolator-switched-socket-outlet.html I would just buy a new $25 replacement pump. They sell them on Amazon, and you'll get it quick with free shipping.
