  1. There ya go...
  2. How quickly do these crazy nice zoas spread in your system? Just curious. Nice stuff.
  3. Seasave in GlenBurnie breeds them successfully. The prices are just ok, and the service is hit or miss. BUT, he does breed them. It is neat to see a tank full of babies.
  4. Here is a good link; http://www.masa.asn.au/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?t=210496&view=next&sid=8378cc24537e73467f69b688aa9a9f10 Doesn't say if it's ok or not ok, but links to a supplement which has the same ingrediants it appears. http://www.rejuvehealth.com/All-Products/BioAstin-Astaxanthin.html Gives a little insight I supose
  5. Agreed. I want to read the Inspector General article once it is released.
  6. This is a very interesting article on the Minerals Management Services. Seems BP is not the only one at fault. There should be a full report out this week by the inspector general. That should be more informative and less one sided than this article. Just do a google search for TONS more of similiar articles. http://rawstory.com/rs/2010/0525/oil-inspector-crystal-meth-letting-companies-fill-audits-report/
  7. This foam seems to be popular. http://www.touch-n-f...m/landscape.php Just seems like you have to be careful not to use very much and to make sure your rock is heavy so the aquascape doesn't float away. . . .
  8. All, Thought I would share this deal. I don't do SPS, but seems like a worthy look if your buying some soon. http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/prod_display.cfm?c=747+2662+2600&pcatid=2600
  9. Did that hurt?!?!?
  10. $50 might seem like a lot, but you are going to spend a lot more putting together a tank solely dedicated to the mantis shrimp itself. I hear they can break glass. That means if you want to be safe you will need a custom tank (NAGA builds acrylic tanks). Maybe get a really thick acrylic tank in a custom size. Somethig like 18"x18"x18" with a nice piece of rock in the center. Throw a par 38 with 60 or 80 degree optic right over the center since high light isn't necessary. Also, you will probably want an overflow http://www.glass-holes.com/Super-Nano-con-Dientes-Overflow-Kit-nanodienteskit.htm, even if it is very small. This will keep the heater and what not out of the water. You could even use the sump to store "food." I've never seen a mantis before, but if you get one you have to post some pics.

  12. haha I am assuming he is dead. He was doing fine and then was just GONE one day. My tank is only 29gal and I didn't see him anywhere. Checked the carpet and didn't see him there either. Guess he crawled under a rock, and never came out. O well...
  13. My six line wrasse has been hiding for almost 4 months. . . . think he is coming out soon?
  14. how old are your lights? how long do they run each day? how often do you do a water change? I would do a decent size water change and leave the lights off for 24 hours. I leave my lights off for 24 hours once a week or so.
  15. what's the difference b/t a yuma and a ricordia?
  16. Taken on auto adjust with a sony cybershot. No "post processing" (also no regular skills either) They look better, but they don't glow neon in the dark. You get the idea. lol ID's??????
  17. I picked up a frag pack of mushrooms thru Mrcoral. I got bright red, dark red, blue, purple with blue rim, neon green, laffy taffy, crazy orange. I can not wait for these to cover my tank. They are definately not the shrooms people should consider weeds. Once I learn to take a picture of my tank I will post pics to get ID's on these things. They are NUTS! Good job Mr. Coral. Shipping was perfect as well. All the vendors on this site are amazing. I used to hate buying corals in stores because I felt like I was getting taken advantage of, but Mr. Coral and ALL the vendors that deal thru Wamas are truly amazing to do business with. Keep it up.
  18. http://www.thatpetplace.com/pet/group/10868/product.web use some superglue gel and a brush to get the gravel on the rock. Then, use some regular "thin" superglue and a spray bottle to get some sand on top to add some more texture. http://www.thatpetplace.com/pet/group/233/product.web I am not sure how long the tank would take to cycle if you do this to the rock. My guess is a long long time. I would carry the theme with using the black sand as your substrate and cover the back wall in superglue and then cover that in sand before filling the tank. Maybe do the back and sides . . . .
  19. Idea. . . . .superglue is ok for our tanks . . . black sand exists in nature . . . .Cover rock in glue and then coat it in black sand like dipping a piece of chicken in egg wash and bread crumbs? You did say, "please anything would be appracite don't feel like any idea is too stupid." Might want to get the glue by the gallon...haha
  20. get reflectors as well with the T5's
  21. I was in Exotic Aquatics this past Saturday. They have a really nice selection of fish and corals. They even have some large chalice colonies like 6in x 6in which are cool, since most the time we are looking at small frags of it. Currently they took down their front display tank (they are re-doing it). Definately will be a worth while stop.
  22. Everyone should go once. I have been 3-4 times with no bad experiences. The nurse sharks are cool to see regardless of whether or not it's humane.
  23. Sea Save on ritchie highway . . .
  24. do you have a pic of the sump?
  25. Not sure if it's still there or not, but I went a few months back and they had a jelly fish exhibit called "Invasion of the Jellies." It was simply amazing.
