  1. I also see they are made in both 110 volt(USA) and 220 volt(Everywhere else) . . . .FYI.
  2. Is there a homepage for the manufacturer of maxxspects? I do not see anything other than online reviews, and websites selling them. Thanks!!!
  3. I really like the AI a lot. I also saw the Panorama is person this past weekend at That Pet Place, and really liked that as well. Just trying to see what gives the most bang for the buck. I am a fan of the Par38's, but personally prefer not to have the spotlike look they provide. Thank you for the tip on LEDwholesalers. Usually if it looks to good to be true it is...
  4. Can someone with more knowledge than myself explain the difference between the two fixtures linked here? http://www.ledwholesalers.com/store/index.php?act=viewProd&productId=512 and http://www.aquariumspecialty.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=28_859&products_id=6448 They look the exact same to me other than the $170 price difference . . . Thanks in advance.
  5. So I just got home from my first trip to that fish place in Lancaster. It was amazing. The first store I have ever been to that had every single item in the tanks labeled with prices. The coral selection was good, but not amazing as the fish selection. They had every single fish I could imagine ever seeing. Leopard wrasses, puffers, tangs, I can't even expain it. Sea slugs, box fish, EVERYTHING! And the tanks had zero algae (must be a huge UV somewhere in there). They also have a display tank in the front that must be 2,000 gallons (didn't ask). Had acro's encrusting on the back glass. They also had a LED lit tank with the MP series powerheads (photo below). The torch coral was wazing like crazy and the shimmer effect was unreal. This was the first LED lit tank I have seen and I am sold. They had acro frags that seemed to be doing well in the tank. I am in Towson for the weekend so I made it there in an hour and ten minutes. Also, they stock any tank you could ever want with a great selection of quality stands. They had some 300 gallon deep dimension tanks.... Definately worth the trip. I managed to make it out with a powerhead and some snails. I went more to see what's there then to buy stuff.
  6. In your tank thread could you post a short summary of your maintenance routine? I am just curious to see what means and methods you use.
  7. Absolutely amazing man. Wow. I bet you can literaly watch as those things grow. The last one is my fav.
  8. I replaced them two weeks ago I try to replace them every 8-10 months. The tank just seems to "pop" when I replace them.
  9. Yea, just make sure it doesn't block both sockets when plugged in.
  10. The only thing I have automated is my lights, and the fan that goes with them. What I did was buy a cheap one outlet marineland timer. Plugged the timer into the wall, and plugged a surge protector power supply into the timer. Now I have like 5 outlets instead of one all on the same timer. I have 2 plugs for the light fixture plus a third for the fan. Works well, and has truly made my life so much easier.
  11. 135 watts of power compacts over a 29gal. I have them at the upper third of the tank. They only stretch out sometimes. It's odd. O well. If it's the lighting it is what it is, because I don't plan on changing till I get a bigger tank. Thanks.
  12. I have a few zoas in my tank, and the "stalk" stretches out. I see them in stores and they look flat on the rocks. What gives?
  13. What type of lighting is that under in your tank?
  14. One of the freebies from Mr. Coral with a purchase a little while back. It's my first clam. I am a fan of the stripes. About 3" edit: It's blury/pixelated because I took it with my Iphone...
  15. Is it my fault that I killed a "poker star montipora" when I first started a few years ago? The guy at the store told me it would be fine under power compacts (I assumed he knew what he was talking about) . . . Turned out it wasn't fine and slowly died over the course of the next few weeks.
  16. Did anyone make it out Saturday morning? Pick up anything?
  17. They are at 835 Rockville Pike. However long it says to get there add 30 minutes. Traffic is horrible in that area 24/7. I left work from silver spring at 3 and didn't get there till 4 . . . .Their frags looked great. SPS, Clams, Soft, Acans, and of course Chalices...
  18. Don't bother going tonight. Not selling anything in the tanks till tomorrow... Not even at reg price...
  19. I might have to go here tonight after work . . .hmm.
  20. That would be great! I work at NOAA off of Colesville Rd. and East West Hwy...
  21. I am interested in seeing some LED lit tanks in person. Anyone know of any in the Bowie / Silver Spring area? Either Aqua Illuminations or Evil's Par 38's. It is too hard to tell how they look thru photographs. Any stores have display tanks with LED's?
  22. I don't know what your day job is, but you should build furniture as nice as that looks. Great job! Keep updating as it progresses.
  23. Where are they located? I work in Silver Spring, and it's my understanding they are in the area? Are they a site sponsor? edit: Nevermind found them.
