  1. I'm looking for someone as well. In my case, it'll be for a 75. If you find someone, I would appreciate the contact info too.
  2. Premium Aquatics is a good place to check prices. Theirs are always fair. Sometimes you can save a few bucks on a special somewhere else, but I've always received good service from PA. Is this a tank with one or two overflows? I tried a 1262 on my tank and it was too much. Water was shooting through the teeth of the overflow making all kinds of noise. For me, the 1262 is perfect for a tank with 2 overflows. The 1260 is perfect for a tank with one overflow.
  3. Hey, you must be a software guy. Normal people don't say "use case". Thanks, I'll do that and get my membership completed.
  4. BTW, I was trying to follow the link on this page http://www.wamas.org/about.php. That one is broken, I see the giant join now button at the top now, so I'm good there.
  5. Thanks, that at least got me to the page. It isn't working though. It is telling me I have to enter an address, zip code, etc to advance to payment, but it doesn't have any fields for that.
  6. I'd like to join as a member, but the link to do it by paypal doesn't seem to work. Can someone give me the right link or information for how to sign up?
  7. I don't think the price was $5000, but I'm pretty sure I know where it went. Although he hasn't come straight out and said it, Matt Pederson posted this link to TCMAS and also sold some high dollar fish in a real hurry last week to buy a new fish. http://www.lightning-maroon-clownfish.com/
  8. I used to use it in my nano. I didn't have any problems with regenerating it. Soak in bleach water, then soak in RO with dechlorinator and throw it back in. Bleach is just chlorine and it will gas off on its own if you let it sit long enough. There is plenty of chlorine in the tank too, so I don't think there is much to worry about.
  9. MP10ES has the new controller but no wireless. They say the wireless module will be a $60 add on that will be available in the parts store soon. The $85 upgrade has the wireless module in it. Without it is $50. So, the difference is $35, but the wireless module to add to the driver later is $60. IMHO, the pricing is all screwed up on these.
  10. I'm thinking about it, but I'm a little pissed at the pricing. They are offering them for $75 with a $25 mail in rebate (so $50) to people with MP40W's, but $85 for people with MP10s. I've got 2 of them, so to upgrade them would cost almost as much as a 3rd pump. I probably would have ordered them already if they were offering the same deal for MP10 owners.
  11. If you can find an old PS2 mouse/keyboard, or extension cable, they work. Use a small pliers to bust out the rectangle key fitting in them and then it fits in the Jr. I have mine wired to a switch to kill my skimmer when I want to do a water change.
  12. An MP10 would be serious overkill in a 12g tank. But, they are adjustable, so it probably could be done. What kind of 12g? Is this an all in one tank? When I had a biocube, I cut a hole in the overflow area and mounted a 6025 in the back. The whole powerhead was hidden. I've seen similar things done with a koralia so that it looks just like an MP 10 sort of where only the front half is sticking out into the tank.
  13. I've got a purple one I've had for about 2.5 yrs so they live at least that long. I haven't seen it in about a week though that isn't unusual. It likes to hide in a hole.
  14. I'm not a fan of U tube overflows, but some of the better ones have a fitting tapped right at the top. You hook that up to an aqua lifter or a maxi jet on the air adapter. Then if some air does get in there, the pump sucks it out so the overflow doesn't fail. Perhaps you can modify your so this doesn't happen again? A ball valve can be purchased at any home improvement store like Home Depot just make sure that you only restrict the output. Never restrict the input of a pump. A gate valve is much better for fine control but they are more expensive and harder to find. I got mine at Bulk Reef Supply but there may be some LFS that have them.
  15. I would think CO2 or pH problems from the house being closed up over dry air. Other than increasing evap rate (perhaps an issue for kalk users), I don't see how dry the air would affect the tank at all - its full of water all the time.
  16. This is from less than a week of skimming on a tank that only has 5 small fish.
  17. This is for a 30" wide tank? No way you need a 40. The 10 is likely enough. I had a few dead spots on my 57 that is 3 feet wide so I added a second and its perfect. For the price of a 40, you can put 2 10's on there ant it would be much better. The pumps are smaller too.
  18. You are obsessed when you start getting into heated arguments over who has the stinkiest skimmer juice.
  19. Can you grow sponge fast enough to keep a nudi fed? What about a dwarf angel? I thought they ate sponge.
  20. Thank you for the offer, but its way early for me to be buying more rock. I didn't even know there was a group buy section. I can't wait till I get to be a member.
  21. Well, that alpha cone 170 arrived today and my first impressions are that it is the best skimmer I've ever seen. I'm really happy with it so far and it built up a nice thick foam head within 15 minutes of turning it on. So far so good.
  22. I want some of that too. Does this happen often? I'm not going to be in the area until May/June.
  23. Well, I sold the BK Mini and ordered an Alpha Cone 170. Hopefully it will be a good fit for my system.
  24. I'm not sure where they get it from, but the BRS reactor has a big john guest type push connect fitting that pushes right onto a maxi jet. It then goes to a big ball valve you can use for flow and into another piece of pipe the same dimension as the maxijet into the reactor. Perhaps you can just get a piece of tube, and the ball valve and use that on yours.
  25. I have a Oceanic Illuminata 57 mixed reef with SPS, LPS, and softies with somewhere around 60-70 gallons total volume with the sump (20L). I like fish and I don't like to do water changes so I need a big skimmer. Originally, I had a Octopus Extreme 160 skimmer on it and it was OK but too loud (I want my tank as silent as possible). The small purple pinwheel made it better, but it was still louder than I wanted. Then, I came along a used BK Mini 180 that was just too good a price to pass up. It is OK and certainly well built, but I think it is just so oversized that it may not work right on my tank. So, does anyone have suggestions for me? Any opinions on the itech 100 w/ the tunze pump?
