Yes, they didn't even know what it was. I've gone in there several times. It seems like they have a lot of potential but I've always left a little disappointed.

Bump. I know F&F has it, but I am wondering if anyone else stocks it.
-
I think he means $1 per gallon sale. e.g, 20L for $20, 40B for $40.
-
Anyone know a store that stocks Prodibio? The closer to Alexandria the better.

I've had both and got rid of the Vortechs and went back to the Tunzes. I got tired of listening to the motor block whine as sped up and slowed down. They also forgot night mode all the time. That said, the flow they create is amazing. 2xmp40 is WAY too much. Its on the top end, but 2xmp10s with an extra powerhead on the back or maybe 3 mp 10s would be better. I have 2x6055 on my 75 and I think I'd do the same on a 90.

Is the floor level and the stand square? 3/4" over 18" sounds like a lot.

Good news! My neighbor caught me taking out the trash and they had put it behind their door. In an odd coincidence, the FedEx guy showed back up right about the same time. So, between my calls and Mr. Coral's calls, FedEx did respond even though it was Home Delivery. So, now that the corals are in the tank, I can add a bit more. The corals were packaged well. Each frag was double bagged and then they were triple bagged together. There was water in the main bag, but there did not appear to be any holes in the corals bags, so perhaps that was there pre-shipping. I was immediately impressed with the size of one of the acans (I ordered 2 acans, 2 millis, and a zoa frag). It may be my pick one acan, but I have paid far more for a similar sized acan frag of this quality. The others look to be about what I expected. They aren't huge, but they didn't cost that much either. The sizes are very fair for the prices. One of the millis had broken off its plug, but its not a big deal, I just glued it back on. I did a Revive dip and nothing bad came off of them. The frags appear to be clean. They also appear to be 2-3 weeks post fragging which is just what I like. They are fresh enough that the plugs aren't hard to inspect for egg sacs and/or to remove the corals from the plugs. At the same time, they were not freshly cut as it looks as though the tissue has had plenty of time to heal. So, so far, I am very happy. I am having a bit of a water clarity issue at the moment - I bought Marco sand and the stuff just won't settle down and stop making clouds. I will try to take some pics tomorrow and hopefully the cloud from me adjusting the power heads will be gone.

Mr Coral's $10 frags and free local shipping was too good a deal to pass up, so I ordered. And, as promised, I will review my experience. Ordering was smooth. The WYSIWYG section for the $10 corals shows you decent pictures of the actual frags. Most all shots have egg crate in the background so you can judge the size of the piece and I didn't notice any colors that were way out of whack. Shipping was quick. I received an email notifying me that my corals were set to ship and to call if there was a problem with the delivery date. I thought this was a nice touch as many vendors will just send things out whenever and you don't know what day they will arrive. It makes it easier to plan to be around. Unfortunately, that is where my story stops for now. My corals were to be delivered this morning. The tracking info says they were delivered, but they were not. FedEx either did not deliver them or delivered them to someone else. This is probably an issue isolated to the free local delivery offer, but the service level used was FedEx Home Delivery. Apparently, it takes 24 hours to initiate a trace and FedEx basically has no clue where my box is. On a higher level of service, it would have stayed with a FedEx employee and not a contractor and perhaps it wouldn't have been lost or they would have been able to get ahold of the driver. 999/1000 packages probably would have been delivered on time. Unfortunately, this time, I'm the 1/1000. Its not Mr. Coral's fault other than selecting Home Delivery service. So, once my corals finally make it to me, I'll see what condition they are in and update this thread then.

I just added 4 Kupang damsels to my 75 today. So far, they are hanging out together. The jury it out though whether they will be aggressive or not.

The DI makes it purer. The biggest reason for switching is cost. It will cost you pennies (20 gallons of water and a small amount of consumables in the filter) to make that 5 gallons. It's not that much work if it's set up right. Turn it on for a couple hours and let it do it's thing.

Never ever toss it. That's a total waste. If you want a redo, give it an acid wash.

I have heard one spot rabbit fish and adult red sea sailfin tangs are your best bet. Zebromosa tangs are generally the best. Scopas are a good choice. They aren't super flash, but do a good job with many types of algae.

I've been pretty happy with the stuff from BRS.

What is the cheapest lighting option for a frag tank?
hypertech replied to Incredible Corals's topic in General Discussion
I think nanotuners has shorter T5 with built in reflectors now. -

How big is the area you are trying to light? 2x24W T5 is probably much cheaper than any quality LED setup. -
I think I fixed it. Thanks for the reminder.

No one contacted me about needing anything following my post on the other thread. Perhaps I didn't make the right first impression with my post. I shoot with a 5Dm2 w/ 100L macro lens. So, if the club buys any lenses to share, they better be Canon! Here is a sample pic of my work. Time is still an issue, but I might be able to help out with pictures every once in a while if it isn't too far from Alexandria.

I won't trust those. They are not rated for the weight and they will eventually crack (been there done that). Agricultural stores sometimes have thicker ones that can handle it, but I don't know if there are any stores like that here? I found a Norwesco bin that might work, but again, no idea where I could buy something like that around here.

I need something approximately 31" wide, 31" tall, and 24" deep for water storage. I used to just use a trash can, but I don't think that will fit in the space I have now. Any suggestions of things that will work or places to shop for something like this?
-
They would be going in a 75. I was thinking 2-4 of them.
-
Are you guys talking about the same fish? Yellow belly not just yellow tail.
-
I'm told they are not as aggressive and are more like a chromis. Anyone have experience with them? Is there an LFS that stocks them?

By the time you build an acrylic sump and buy all that tubing, I bet you could make up teh difference between the value of your pump and a good submersible pump.
-
Why not just get a submersible pump? No holes, no cracks, no problems.

How to secure loc-line return to tank rim?
hypertech replied to extreme_tooth_decay's topic in General Discussion
I use electric conduit straps. If your stand is wood, screw it into the stand. Otherwise, I weld them to 1/4" acrylic and then put double stick foam tape on the other side of the acrylic. This makes it easy to attach it to the back of the tank. One or two supports is generally enough.
