  1. What kind of tank is that? Are the footprint of the tank is similar to Nanocube 12g? You need heatsink, driver(s) (meanwell D or buck puck), power supply if you use buckpuck), wiring, soldering skills, thermal paste or the thermal stickers that nanotuners sells. I don't think you need optic on LEd if the size of your tank similar to NC12. Also you need 1/2 PC fans on the hood sucking air out from heatsink. As for dimming, you can either built one of those DIY dimmer that works with Meanwell D or use buckpuck which has POT on it. If you have Reefkeeper, you can use ALC module and meanwell D drivers to do the dimming for you. Buckpuck can only drive a maximum of 6 LED per driver while Meanwell can drive about 12 max. It's all depends on personal preference on driver selection Acclimation of corals to LED is important. Dimming is a must (or you can adjust the height or use some screen to control the light penetration) There are a lot guides in N-R to give you an idea how to etc.

  22. Why you are risking it? Here something for reading from Cree about heat management http://www.cree.com/products/pdf/XLampThermalManagement.pdf You could get away with smaller heatsink or those L channel or even 2" aluminum tubing but you must rely fans to dissipate the heat.
  23. Tell me about it. I was lucky I took my stealth heater out for cleaning and I have it soaked in the vinegar water on a bucket. I had the heater soaked for a few days and I took it out and clean it. I discovered there is a cracked on the black plastic stealth heater that I can see the stuffs inside!
  24. When you guys are screwing the LEDs on the heatsink, I would highly recommend you to polish the heatsink with Mothers! It only takes like 15mins-30min of work and it's easy. You can use a cloth and a drill to do the work. Any question on LED built, you can PM me. I will try to answer whatever I know. I have mine running since Feb/March 2010.
