  1. a quick suggestion if you have it on hand, use heatshrink on the wire connections...i hate them electrical tape...nice LED works
  2. Hi dude You should solder the connecting wires together and use heatshrink, wire nut sucks!
  3. Ya i m looking for a couple small sheets..mainly ~ 9++X6 and 6X3
  4. Everytime I dump saltwater into the basement drain, I always flush it with some tap water...
  5. Yes I agreed with you assesment but you also have to take a few factors into consideration the heat issue that required you to run fans during summer/fall/spring months minus winter. Also MH induced heats into the house which required running of A/C. Water evaporate faster, hence more RO water cost..
  6. I am wondering what's the penetration on those 1W LED. Would to see par value
  7. A quick dirty estimate on 96 LEDs LED ~ $ 580 + Heatsink ~ $100 drivers assuming he is running 12 LEDs per string per driver with meanwell $ 256 ++ shipping wires, solder, flux, thermal pads or screw+ nyloc washers $30 housing varies if you have something to gut or built a new one ..$20-$100? optics if he use those...$100 I would say around $1k-$1.4k...but if he use SteveLED or some Chinese made royal blue leds...reduced the cost by ~$144....
  8. you use a tiny bit, like a dot. Don't put too much into it or else when you screw it in, it will make a mess. Make sure you use a nyloc washer between the screw and the led star. Also You can also use Nanotuner pad. Since you are using 24 LEDs, why not just use 2 meanwell D driver. You can either use Reefkeeper lite ALC to dim it or built a simple dimming circuit. Nanoreef has it. Also if you do not want to go that option, you may have to use light diffuser or hang it higher
  9. Basically you get the wire and some solder and try to melt some solder onto the wire. This way it will helps the bonding faster before the heat pass into the heatsink or onto the wire
  10. Ya i do know how to solder but it's pain in the butt the trick is pre-tinned all your precut wires and the led pads themselves to make life earlier... let me know if you do a group buy..gotta order soon...
  11. cool..are you using 50/50 CW:RB ratio?
  12. Ya..i m too waiting to get something from rapidled too myself...a heatsink and some leds...maybe a driver
  13. Lol...still trying to decide :P I ordered from rapidled before. They shipped pretty fast and their stuffs is basically same as N-T
  14. nice... Do you use RODI water back then?
  15. that tank is older than me! ...wow..would love to see some pictures!
  16. If I were you...I will soak it in boiling water freshwater then let it sit dry in the sun for weeks
  17. misleading title Phoenix Island...somewhere in the Pacific tiny little island
  18. I did also pick a pair of black and white clown from Almon. Mine is hosting in my GBTA. I have LED without skimmer on my NC
  19. No problem man. You have my number, give me a call when you are ready
  20. Hi there what happened? I thought we suppose to meet up at AA to pick up the unit from you...Never heard back from you at all
  21. I am not trying to get into argument but I beg deferred. Also for dimming you can control the color on your lights too and just having RB only too. Just look at the number on your EvilPar38 http://www.nano-reef.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=221433&hl=par38 From the LED guru Evil
  22. What kind of PAR meter you are using? I read somewhere that Apogee meter give false reading on LED especially the blue.
