i agree, the ones on there now look big, but they did have one of the small whites ones with the black bandit mask a few days ago. That's the same kind i have in my acro colony now.

I have been seeing them the past few weeks in the Diver's Den section of LiveAquaria http://www.liveaquaria.com/diversden/CatDi...&page_num=2

I was already feeling bad about winning 2 things Was a very nice meeting and the presentation was very enjoyable. Glad I was able to come out for it.

no pic because I kinda smooshed it getting it out of the tank . maybe from my description, someone might know what it is. about 3/4 inch long, very thin, white, segregated, looks like some bristles coming off sides. It's head almost looked like the filter thingies off of a sea cucumber. I had seen it climbing the tank walls, but really didn't pay much attention until it started swimming. It would lift off the tank wall and then a few seconds later it would start corkscrewing in the water to swim around. after watching it doe this a couple times i decided to get it out in case it was a parasite that could bother one of my fish. does this sound like anything you guys have seen before? thanks, Steve

my tank is on hardwood. i bought a section of tan indoor/outdoor carpeting to place under the stand. The color makes it not that noticeable.

I just found my emerald crabs releasing eggs and spawning
Noobalicious replied to Jan's topic in Propagation and Breeding
just saw the same thing in my tank. only difference is that there is only one crab, and what was released was swimming fry. got a couple in a container with some phyto and will see if there is any way to get them to grow bigger. -
This is pretty much an intro of myself and what I'm attempting to do. My name is Steve and it has been many years since having a tank set up, so basically we are talking about noob city here folks The setup is 75 gallons and is still being tinkered with equipment wise and still am not sure of how it should look when everything grows in. Only 4 frags are in final resting places, with the rest loose and waiting for me to finally figure out where they would look nice. 3 weeks ago a corner of my living room looked like It's a very basic setup with no fancy equipment. Almost everything was purchased through CL and RC before they got strict on the selling forum requirements. The original owner of the tank had exposed overflow pipes in the middle of the tank. I was going to try and put in an overflow chamber with 2 dursos, but the Tenecor bracing made it impossible to get access to the overflow pipes for maintenance. Ended up using the 2 holes for a closed loop of sorts. There is one 1ft pipe elbowed out of the bulkhead that has an end cap and had tons of small holes drilled in about 6 rows running the length of the pipe. The second bulkhead has a T pipe coming out of it and runs the full length behind the live rock. There is a single row of 1/4 inch holes that run the front side of each T'd pipe section and is running at about 1000gph. I figured this way no junk could build up in the rock work. Next put in a 1 1/2 bulkhead for an over flow and made my own ghetto overflow pipe...will probably get changed out at some point. For the return i am using one of the wave devices that Bruce(bbyatv)makes. It works very well for making a wave action in the tank. 16 days ago water/rock/sand went in. My rock work isn't that impressive, but I like how half of the rock was in slab form and made some nice platforms to mount corals. The rock was coming out of an established tank, so there wasn't much of a cycle. The only problem was with me running MH lighting too soon and getting some hair algae, but that is almost all gone now. Here is the current tank shot. Will post more pics later. Thanks for looking Steve

i agree, nice frags and fish went by on friday and they were in the middle of getting the lighting set up for the new frag tubs...will be nice to see what is available when they get everything finished.

good article, thanks for sharing

looks like a very nice lighting option. what is the life expectancy of the LEDs?

Had my first turbo snail incident last night. I hadn't figured out a spot for my new frag of green slimer yet, and one of the turbos knocked it loose and into a head of frog spawn. For the most part the frag is ok, but there are a few "bleached" spots. Is this something that the slimer could repair, or will there be permanent white areas? Thanks for your input. Steve

davelin315's 300 Gallon In Wall Reef Tank

that mandarin looks happy and fat -
If an item is received for no cost from another member, then it should probably be viewed the same as the SWAP items. It would also be a shame to take advantage of someones kindness, with giving a fellow member a big discount, just to make a buck. Being a new member, I am quite appreciative of members that are willing to help out by providing low cost frags. Bob(lanman) just loaded me up with a bunch of corals for way less than if I had purchased from a vendor. I even kinda felt a little guilty at how big one of the frags was in comparrison to what he was asking for it .

that live rock is really nice
