  9. The way it is supposed to work, is everyone has 3 weeks to submit photos for the announced topic of the month. Generally, you would be submitting your own pics and not submitting pics that someone else has taken. You will have the opportunity to vote for the submissions in a poll during the last week of each month. However, with that having been said, it is Laurie's lion fish picture that was the inspiration for the March theme. I'm hoping she will enter the pic for the contest.
  10. Just a brief post to let everyone know that the picture of the month(POTM) will be starting up again. My name is Steve and I will be working along with another Steve(FearTheTerps) to help collect the entries and run the polls. Hopefully we will be able to get a lot of support with user entries. Why is this something you want to participate in? I find that this is a hobby that many people are quite passionate about. Probably many of you are already active in taking pictures of your tanks. This is a great opportunity for you to share your setup/pets with other members of the club that wouldn't otherwise ever get to see your tanks. Who knows, maybe your picture may inspire someone else. Plus, did you know that there is a prize? Each winner of the POTM will receive raffle tickets for use at our quarterly meeting. You do not have to be a photographer for your entries to win. Many times the subject of the picture/luck of the shot outweighs the technical aspects. And even if you aren't submitting pictures, please make sure to have a share by participating in the polls for the winner. The post for the March POTM will be up this evening, so get your cameras ready
  11. wow, that shroom must be at least 8-9 inches
  12. Was there enough heat to loosen the snow and have it slide off the roof or did you have to pull it off by hand?
  13. from what i can tell from shovelling, it looks like about 12 new inches in rockville
  14. power went out in our neighborhood twice now
  15. I think the fastest remedy for you would be to get rid of the BB in front of your member status
  16. There is a big difference between not having "proper" packaging and a delay of delivery....proper packaging gets negated if the shipping company sits on the package too long.
  17. canary wrasse and a yellow tang since they are the same color, is this an impossible combo or will the low key temperment of both overide color envy?
  18. looks good probably better to have gotten the rocks set the way you wanted...there will always be other sales
  19. What is ridiculous is to keep rehashing the same issue. If you don't like frags, then don't buy them. Pretty sad when people keep crying about something that they aren't being forced to take part of.
  20. Ryan, if you are going to the Mr. Coral social, i can bring the 2 magnets i have left from KJMagnetics so that you can see how strong they are. They are pretty dang strong when trying to pull straight apart or sliding off each other...a couple sets on a rack would probably hold 25 pounds or so.

  22. i have always had a good experience with them, and thought that their prices were quite reasonable. $19 fire shrimp/$16 cleaner shrimp that I have picked up in the past month. Their fish are healthy and are usually about 20% cheaper than other stores..... at least in Maryland that is. $16 Bangaiis i saw 2 weeks ago are just one example.
