  1. Love their blue bulb, I had trouble finding them last time. Very good bulbs, I mix them with ati. Sent from my Moto Z (2) using Tapatalk
  2. +1 reactor media is all, I have a large bag full of them too if anyone wants to use them as calcium reactor media. Sent from my Moto Z (2) using Tapatalk
  3. Wow, ok Jason fox!! Sent from my Moto Z (2) using Tapatalk
  4. Yup it helps with purples, yellows and reds too. Basically once the corals adjust and start growing under the new bulbs, that's when you see what a certain spectrum of a bulb is giving you. Just putting a bunch of blue bulbs might look ok at first, and give some pop, but over time these colors won't be as nice looking as they can with whites in the mix. I am not a fan of using a lot of blue plus bulbs on a t5 fixture. But using a number of different blue bulbs and a coral plus can give you a nice blue tank and not have it look washed out. I use half white bulbs half blue bulbs. I use a large mix of a few brands so each bulb is different but they all blend together nicely. This way I know I am getting a bit of everything. I don't use any actintic because they seem like they don't put out much light, especially when ran with a white bulbs. When I run halides I like 10xm or reflux 12k with a lot of blue LEDs. The blue LEDs don't show through the halide well but they will give you a nice looking tank and corals if you use enough, you can make the white bulbs look good. 5. Also depends on which colors you prefer to bring out the most. Whiter bulbs can help bring out blues more than a bunch of blue bulbs. Going with more blue bulbs can wash out certain colors. That's why I like more white and coral plus and use as many blue LEDs as I can to keep the tank from becoming too yellow/white. Sent from my Moto Z (2) using Tapatalk
  6. Nevermind I see you use lrs food for the fish. Sent from my Moto Z (2) using Tapatalk
  7. Awesome tank! Are you feeding anything to the corals or just feeding the fish? Sent from my Moto Z (2) using Tapatalk
  8. They will just go back into another small tank at a local store anyways, but I know how you feel. I remember a shop near here that used to have one of those huge paccu looking fish in a tank so small it couldn't even turn around in it Sent from my Moto Z (2) using Tapatalk
  9. Thanks for sharing, I feel bad other wamas members were strung along as well. I hope others that had experiences like this post, so no one has to go through what me and my wife went through. Sent from my Moto Z (2) using Tapatalk
  10. Same experience for me but worse than everyone else. Paid for a custom skimmer and gave me a date which never happened, later dates, then later dates, with excuses to follow and shortages on stock to blame. Then he got really angry that I was trying to contact him, big argument happened in person at my house, when he came over with a hostile take it or leave it attitude. I don't even like thinking about the experience or sharing about it, it messed up my head really good. It was before he was even on wamas. Sad part was I paid in advance and I know of three people who had all of their products built and delivered many months before I ever saw a sign that mine was being started. I couldn't even find out any information on him when I was looking, it was like he was trying to hide from me. My tank crashed eventually because I had no skimmer and the bank had to get my money back by persueing fraud. Lucky I got most of it back. But the time and energy I spent trying to talk to him wasn't even worth the money in the end. I wish I knew people were still having issues or I would have tried to warn others. Imo wamas should not let him sell here, I don't care how good his products are. Sent from my Moto Z (2) using Tapatalk
  11. No I think it's the other way around, the sps are interfering with your zoanthids, bring them to me and I will take care of them Kidding obviously, I am still wondering how I can bring myself to get rid of my collection like I said I would... Way harder than I thought... Sent from my Moto Z (2) using Tapatalk
  12. There are zoa eating spiders, which are not as common since they don't reproduce on their own. But if they do start to reproduce can become a nightmare. There are different kinds of slugs or flatworms that aren't studied by even us hobbiests much. These normally become the color of the polyps they favor and don't do anything but irritate the polyps really, which can cause problems eventually. These are very small and move very slow and not many people know to even look for them. There are zoa eating nudis which also take the color of the polyps they eat. Fungus is another issue that can spread rampant in a zoanthid tank. There are even pods that can keep zoanthids closed when in large numbers. Each one of these needs their own method of irridacation and their own dip that works best. Sent from my Moto Z (2) using Tapatalk
  13. Also madweazl is right about the flatworms. Acro eating flatworms will only be found on acropora. Tell us a little more about the worms and maybe someone can help. Some worms can cover corals to the point where they will start to die, and the worms are sometimes hard to see unless you have experience with them before or have read about them. 14. Brown jelly normally affects lps and you can tell by taking the coral out of water and smelling it. If it's rancid and funky it's brown jelly. If it smells like healthy coral it's not. Sent from my Moto Z (2) using Tapatalk
  15. Also I was very disappointed at how the led I got light up the corals when I got there, it was my first time seeing them under leds. I will need to get a t5 fixture for next time so I can show how they look in my tank. But thanks to everyone who picked up some of my cheap tiny frags Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
  16. Yea I let some stuff go super cheap, and I messed up gsw3's bags, so if anyone got the wrong frags let me know. I apologize for being late, I will definitely do things differently next time. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
  17. Awww man that's right they cant see the pictures right? :( Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
  18. Sorry we have been busy! Amanda is bringing some of her zoanthids and other stuff. Here are some quick pics of some racks we are bringing. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
  19. I will add some better pics when I get home though, hopefully I have room to bring something to frag up for free too.
  20. So here is a teaser picture for fragfest. I cant give anything away though so I just took a pic through the top of the water. This is just a few of the frag racks I have ready to bring to fragfest. All full of affordable acropora fragments If you have any teaser pics or reasons why non members should sign up please post. 21. Anyone who is not signed up I would suggest to do so! Then plan on going to fragfest, even having to pay the few more bucks for a membership, you will never think about that money again.
  22. Reeflo is my go to. I have an almost new hybrid reeflo I used on my 150 gallon mixing station for a half a year or so. Only ran it every other week. For a day or two and bought new.
  23. I see, it's like a destaco unit so they may just like using a burst of co2 from a regulator? Still if that's what they do I would still buy the best regulator you can buy.
  24. That's a beautiful reactor, it says it comes with a solenoid valve, not sure what it's for? The co2?
  25. Why on earth would they push people away from the only trusted option we have? Maybe because the bubble count will be to high since the reactor is so small?
