  1. seeing the pics in your other thread, it appears that goby will rest wherever the heck he pleases
  2. I've heard alot of people say that just add the dry to an establish tank, but I myself wouldnt trust it unless its a very large system that could handle a mini cycle. What I would do is put it in some water(say from a water change), let it set for a few days to a week or more, then test to see if any any nutrients were released from the rock.
  3. I'll help too, I have a truck, although it's only an s10 , if that helps.
  4. yep, my k2 is green
  5. are you moving just livestock, or also the tanks and other equipment?
  6. Thank You everyone for your submissions. For picture info, see the submission thread HERE
  7. Posting a picture of the damage will really help. But I'll have to agree with Forrest, you never know when something could go bad. Even if it only looks like a little damage, a little damage can do alot, and lead to further damage. Think of it like a crack on a windshield, at first its not so bad, but after awhile it will only get worse and worse over time.
  8. Maybe we should have more frag swaps?? Maybe even one open to the public? Say, pay a small entrancee fee, but the frags themselves would still be free.
  9. I just posted in your FOR SALE thread but Ill copy it here. You keep 3 clowns together, but only if the third was a juvenile. So you would have a female, male, and an unsexed juvi. But it sounds that with the naked she is already developed as a female, so what with create problems with her and the female b&w. Ocellaris clowns are the most likely to accept a 3rd or even 4th clown, but you will never have 2 pairs. Just a female male, and everything else will stay an adolescent. If the male or female were to die, the next in line would take its place. So if the female would die, the male will turn female and a adolescent will turn male. Or if a male were to die, the most dominate adolescent will turn male.
  10. Yes, very nice of Dr. Tim's not to price gouge the public. Im surprised he still has any left, as that was a few weeks ago, I think he said he had about 2 dozen. Just another great vendor that isnt just looking to make a quick buck. Its a very good book, I learned alot from reading. I couldnt put it down, althought thats true with most books I read. I can read a 400 page novel in 3 days, but thats entertainment, while this was very informative. Thats probably the reason it took me the 3 days to read it, even with half of 200 pages being pictures. Which is another great part of the book, lots of great pics of clownfish. I had never seen a Seychelles Clown before, they look incredible and wanted one after seeing it, but only to find out they are very rare and hard to come by.
  11. Do they sleep together when the lights are out? (serious tho) At night they will less prone to fight, if a fight gets really out of hand you can turn the lights off and that should make them stop for a bit. Even shortening your light cycle will give them less time to fight with one another. Usually it only takes a few weeks for the sexes to settle in, especially with the male already showing his submissiveness.
  12. If they were maroon's, pairing them can be difficult as the dominate fish can be very aggressive. But with you saying they are Ocellaris, or even if they were Perculas, I wonder they the female is being so agressive. One thing you could try is getting a breeders net, place the male in there by himself and give him some time to relax and heal back up.
  13. Wilkerson's book is kinda "rare", not many people wanting to give up their copy and not any still available retail. People are asking ridiculous amounts even for used books. Usually a used copy had been going for about 80-100 dollars, and There was a new one on amazon a few weeks ago for $450. I found an online store that was selling them for normal retail price, $40. I found it from an article of Reef Builders that Matt Pederson wrote. Here's the link to the vendor. http://store.drtimsaquatics.com/Clownfishes_p_230.html
  14. You can find that book on amazon for about 30 bucks. Another Great book is Joyce Wilkerson's "Clownfishes", I bought it just the other week and couldnt put it down, I read the book in about 3 days. Lots of good information not only on clownfishes but on breeding set-ups, rearing fish, and even alot of other useful marine info. her book had the best explanation of the nitrogen cycle then I have ever read anywhere.
  15. Also what type of clown?
  16. Don't know how to help. I would at least make sure the male is eating. Have you thought about swapping the male out with another male or a juvenile.

  19. BUMP, LAST CHANCE. SUBMISSIONS CLOSES TONIGHT
  20. I nominate Fazio's tank, I saw it just a few weeks ago, it looks great. The unique part to his set up is that he has his breeding grow-out tanks plumb into his DT, which I heard several times is a bad idea because of nutrient problems, but Anthony seems to make it work very well.
  21. http://www.bing.com/images/search?q=white+nudibranch&view=detail&id=7AB3D7094052E3FB8DA3C4E4FB9FFD5AAAC1398D&first=1&FORM=IDFRIR&qpvt=white+nudibranch ????????
  22. With a tang, I think Toms suggestion might be best, get it while it sleeps. Aslo try catching by hand, using a clear acrylic box like LFS uses.
  23. I heard PaulB did that with his fish, all they left behind was a beer can and some bottles
  24. yes, I think using the bulkhead is the simplest route, but I'm wondering how close to the edge of the glass I can drill? I want it as close to the top as possible because of clearance problems with the wall and ceiling. It looks at this point that I may have to move the DT away from the wall a few more inches anyways, I dont think I measured right when I set up the tank. My thought with making the trough is that it would only need about an inch or so above the DT, where a bulkhead would need to be at least 3 inches or more. The trim on the tank and the size of bulkhead itself all effect this. I got sketch up to work, had to update my videocard driver. Now i wish I hadnt, it took me forever to make this crude drawing. Of course I didnt read any directions or tutorials, I was a whiz kid at AutoCAD all throughout school so I thought it would be easy. I started in 7th grade using R12 on an apple macintosh, then used it through high school and college up to autocad 2002.
  25. Pictures are always helpful, I tried using Google Sketch up to show what I want to do, but it keeps crashing on me, dont know why. I used to be pretty good with CAD, but havent used it in years now.
