  1. Justin I think this works in the US b/c we actually have a good amount of people who care and the gov't is not corrupt like they are in Indonesia and throughout where most of our livestock comes from. I just have no faith the Indonesian gov't would not take some money here and there and let people fish for what they want. That is my only issue with your idea, b/c I think its a great idea just don't believe it will work.
  2. Guess Im out of this one, will be on drive trip so I will have to wait until the next one. :(
  3. You could point a powerhead on right at him, and he should move to a spot with flow more to his liking.
  4. First off welcome aboard. I do not see anything about you running a sump, is there one with the system? As for fish you are going to want to get rid of those damsels, they are pests and will cause you nothing but problems with their aggressiveness in the future. You can add all kinds of fish with a 125g tank, most tangs will be good in there, rabbitfish, wrasses, anthias, and more. Your best bet is to go to liveaquaria and look through all their fish and see what peaks your interests and read about those fish. But if you want a reef tank, stay away from the large angels and triggers their are a few exceptions but for the most part they are not reef safe.
  5. I would think they would be fine
  6. Just put on 2 WP25's to replace the MP40's for now (I know they dont create the same flow as the MP's) And off the bat the cords are bothering me a lot, but maybe I will learn to ignore it. But only time will tell. But these pumps seem to put some decent flow at full strength.
  7. Im pretty sure I have seen people with drilled biocubes.
  8. they told me I was SOL and need to buy a new wetside since they got wet. And I dont use the spacer piece b/c of the 3/4" acrylic.
  9. I don't use a spacer on 3/4" thick acrylic.
  10. So I think you were right Jason. The leather shed Sunday and is now opening up again, so I think all is good.
  11. Im hoping my blood orange clowns dont wind up like that, and end up with the personality of an ocellaris.
  12. I have Snow Onyx that are some cool looking and are pretty rare to see around. But it all comes down to what you like and how big your checkbook is.
  13. As few as a few hours to 2 days I will do, depending on the fish. As soon as you are comfortable in thinking the fish have decided to ignore the new guy you can turn the light back on. And based on what you are saying, I think everything sounds ok. But sometimes fish are a-holes and decide to attack again when the lights come back on.
  14. The only benefit to this is I think I might be able to run some of the W25's against my back wall. Since my tank sits against a wall the MP's cant go back there, but I might be able to get magnet behind the tank and then slide the powerhead around until I get it into a place I want it. (depends on how big the magnet is) So maybe this will work out well.
  15. I usually go lights out a couple days when I add a fish that might cause some fighting. Maybe that will help.
  16. Oooops. You know my last name better than I do.
  17. after talking to epleeds I switched the order to 2 wp-25's and will see how that will work for me. Maybe I will run 3-4 wp-25's instead of the 2 mp-40's. But I will have to see how they fit inside the tank and then will make a decision.
  18. I just bought 1 wp-40 b/c I don't know that they will really fit in the tank w/o changing the aquascape (would have this problem with the tunze also) so annoyed.....
  19. So twice in about a month now I have had 2 of my MP40's wetsides decide to fall off the side of the glass, and while falling rip off the sticky "safety" piece that should hold them onto the side of the tank after it falls, and then fall into the sump killing the dry side. So now I am down to 1 powerhead in the tank and am pretty sick and tired of the MP40's. I could go buy new wetsides for about $240 each. Or do I just cut my losses and go buy Tunze's and be done with this crap. Im not a fan of putting any cables in the tank but Im at wits end right now. So should i bet the drysides replaced or just start replacing them with Tunze's? And if I get the tunze what cable is needed to hook it up to the apex? Thanks
  20. ahhh thats a good call, and could make sense.
  21. That water quality probably sucks. I just did a water change for the first time in probably 3 months a few minutes ago. lol Nah I know its pretty good, but not perfect. But doing 100 gallon change today to clean it up
  22. Yeah I just read the article, and know a bit about them. Just strange that a coral that was healthy recently is not all closed up and had about 20 of them on there. Not sure whats going on there.
  23. I cant put a shrimp in b/c I have a pair of blue throat triggers that eat shrimp in the matter of minutes (They took down a dozen cleaners when I put them in the tank) I had hopes they would leave the shrimp alone since they were there first, but was very wrong. I would put the lifespan of a harlequin shrimp in my tank at about 45 seconds from when it hits the water. Are you sure these are asterina's? I have never seen them get this large (granted the display population is small in size bc I bet the triggers eat them) but they were on a leather that has closed up tightly. I thought asterina's dont bother corals.
