  1. Hey guys quick question. What are you guys using to filter your water for large water changes or to setup a new tank?
  2. Im looking at the deepblue post right now. It states the lights are 60'' will that work for a 72'' tank? If so I will message him and probably pick them up. I will not be installing the tank till late april early may, but if I can find some good deals here or there I will pick up the equipment now. As for your questions. I would like to have a nice compromise of fish & corals. I would like to have a mix of both soft and SPS corals, but with the high maintanence of the SPS Im not so sure as this will be in a business.
  3. A few weeks back I was looking at vendors to do the setup for a tank at a new business I am starting. Well my brother and I decided that we will set the tank up ourselves. So now we are trying to figure out the components we will need. Can you guys give me a hand. Here is what I am thinking. This setup is for a full reef tank. I do not have any room behind the tank, so the sump and everything else need to be placed below the tank. Tank: 210 gallon 72 x 24 x 29 Sump: some type of inexpensive refugium. Could I just use a setup like this... http://cgi.ebay.com/300-Gallon-Aquarium-Su...parms=72%3A1205 Lights: 3 x 250 halide lights. Is there a particular brand or something I should be looking for in these? Or will about 750 watts do? Will I need to pick up some fans for them? a wavebox for movement, I have seen them and like the movement they created. For the price does that make sense? Any help with this would be really appreciated. Thanks
  4. I got a good deal on a 75 gallon tank that is not drilled; but I would like to make a reef tank out of it. What is the best way to setup a reef tank w/o an overflow/sump? Thanks
  5. corner of Elk Lick & Rt 50 in front of the car wash. Right now you can see the construction going on.
  6. Just found this place today, and it has been great so far and I will probably become a member. The daycare is going to be located in South Riding and I live out it Haymarket. The setup will be basically in kinda an alcove in the lobby of the daycare. Originally it was going to be a closet but we decided to put a tank there. We have built in the plans all of the outlets and GFI's needed for this. Everything for the tank needs to fit in a 7' wide area that is 18-24'' deep and the area is open floor to ceiling. We will have our carpenter create a stand/hood/enclosure for the unit.
  7. Hello, this is my first post here so please bear with me. I also posted this on the reef central board, but then saw the message to post here instead. I am opening up a day care center in a few months and was hoping to be able to put a large reef tank in the lobby. Myself and my brother have done smaller scale reef tanks (less than 100 gallons) but this tank is going to take a bit more to setup. The area we are looking to put a tank in is 7' wide and currently set for 18'' deep but can push it to about 24''. The area currently is blank floor to ceiling, so there is plenty of room for the setup. We will have a custom cabinet built in around the tank to make it look correct also. I received a quote from a local shop that does setups and maintenance for the aquarium setup, live rock, and sand. The quote came out to approx 8k including install and tax. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Here is the quote
