  1. I have been finding a bunch of these guys in the tank recently and just pulled a bunch off a leather that is now all closed up. And how do I get rid kf these? Most are pretty small but some are a bit bigger and the ones in the sump are about 3/4" across.
  2. Thanks. Without a press I think Im going to have a H-E-double hockey sticks of a job getting those bearings off, but may as well try since they want like $220 for a replacement dry side.
  3. Im just a little afraid getting the bearings off is going to be a royal PITA.
  4. Anyone here do a bearing replacement on an MP40? Mine was running obcenly loud and I sent it back into ecotech and they said it got very wet (dont know where) and the bearings are binding up. I know it runs fine but just makes a racket while running so I just want to replace the bearings. But was hoping someone else has done it and can give me a hand with it. So just looking for some help here if you have done this before. Thanks, Scott
  5. I agree. And yes they get big, I have some that are about 4-5" across. In my old tank, I had some dinner plate size.
  6. I would b very concered that the tank is bowing a lot causing them to break. And what will break next
  7. get the fish out of the bagged water asap. So don't worry about an acclimation, your best bet is to get them into clean water.
  8. Why use bleach and not just throw them in a bucket with muratic acid, wouldnt it be quicker?
  9. I was there I think in 2011, and there were a ton of large lions, not many fish. I asked the captain if I was missing something and he said its basically a dive location now b/c of the hole and not much else.
  10. I have been to that blue hole a few years ago, and I agree it is infested with lion fish.
  11. Go with the Dart, fantastic american made pump and will provide more than enough flow.
  12. My brothers clown lays on his side on the sand bed 3/4 of the day. You throw food and he pops right up and darts around for a minute then goes back to laying down. lazy SOB
  13. wow talk about digging up an old post. lol
  14. Water weld is the cheapest I have found and works well.
  15. GSP does not have sweepers. But it can send shoots out that will cross a small opening between rocks
  16. Had clams in the sandbed and they die. But these 2 clams I have had for over a year now and are doing great, so they must like where they are. And I have those Vega's on 100% and zoas at the bottom reach up for light.
  17. Just moved it, not much space for me to move the powerhead on that side. B/c if I moved it up the clam closed right up and was to much flow on that. If I moved if back, I would have to go all the way to the back wall b/c of the rock structure. So its now almost against the front glass. which I dont think is great either but I guess it will have to do. Plus I found on the backside of the MP40 a snail egg bonanza. There are eggs on top of old eggs, its crazy. So I just pissed off my snail population, lol. So what do people do for flow in the tank when things start really growing? Do you just deal with it and have some dead spots, or do I look at adding another MP40 to cover the now dead spot behind the rock structure?
  18. I like where the leather is since it will never bother any other corals over there. So guess I will be trying to find a new spot for the power head. Right now I have no plans kf fragging it, but who knows by frag Fest it might be getting to big. But I am going to frag that sinularia probably for the meeting since it's now bothering my clam up there.
  19. When I put this toadstool in the tank it was only about 2" across, and obviously has grown a lot. Now it seems to be in the flow of the MP40 next to it and it is not a big fan. Though this pic has him closed up more than normal, he normally has that side pulled in a bit to protect from the flow. Should I move the powerhead, or just leave it be and he will grow around the flow?
  20. thinking about getting a second one for my home tank sometime soon. Probably just need the light version for this tank though, don't have much to control here.
