  1. I picked up an Atlantic Blue Tang this week and it died too. But I will admit it was partially my fault. I didn't ask about salinity and didn't drip acclimate. So it is hard to assume that it was anything from BRK. Any vendor can and does get fish that are sick - it is part of getting fish from the wild. There is no real way to treat EVERY fish and guarantee it 100% - unless you pay 3x more and order from Live Aquaria and pay for shipping as well. I have lost 2 ABTangs though. The other one from Roozens. I look at each fish and see if it is eating, its general health and then still know there is a chance it won't make all the tank transfers and stress of moving it. I QT ALL FISH for 6 weeks prior to entering my display. There are a lot of parasites and stuff that won't show up in the first week or two. That is the only real way to make sure that you don't bring anything into your display and vs. versa. You can have something in the tank that the other fish have lived with and are used to and the new ones get sick cause of it. I QTed all my fish a few months ago to make sure they have nothing - got rid of the ich in my display and haven't had an issue since... Hope it works out for you...
  2. Good post. Any clam gets a 30min freshwater dip prior to introduction to my tank. Fatheree has a GREAT book out on clams - great read
  3. Yeah I was going to say mine doesn't look like that Chewy, but I think its your picture taking
  4. If its warped, it will crack. Just a matter of time and heat.... All the fix ideas will work, just depends on your type of experience and how you want the finished product to look.
  5. I would empty the tank down 3/4 - pop the top brace off - throw the new one on and fill it back up. Guy just did it on CMAS
  6. Check with a LFS - they can order a whole new top brace for you.
  7. Raspberry Limeade & Pink Limeade Aquadelight or Shades of Fall Oregon tort Ice Fire Any yellow shade acro adds a nice mix too. The purple monster isn't all that - even at full grown. Its great as far as a collector piece and a slow grower. But is no where near the color of the Oregon or Cali torts. Unique in its own right, but not colorful really (I have a piece too, but more for the collection/ watching it grow standpoint) Oh and a properly colored up pokerstar blows the Rainbow, sunset, supergirl or the purple nurple out of the water. One of my favorites by far....
  8. I thought I posted these on here...too many boards! Here is an acro I am not sure the name to, or if it has a name. Slowly becoming a favorite. Been coloring it up for 4 months now. Just starting to come into its own. These are some SWEET grandis, favorite zoo right now. Took a couple months to color them up like this. Better green than the picture, since the camera isn't the greatest. Monti's Acan island - Thanks Bob for the SWEET trade! Whoever didn't pick some of these missed out BIG TIME! (I don't pipe anybodies stuff up. - if its nice I tell ya, if the stuff is alright you won't hear a thing - doh!)
  9. I posted this on CMAS. I took this the other day before I cleaned the lens and focus thing off. I am going to try and get some better pictures soon. That or have someone come over and take some for me. The tank has never looked so good. The colors are crazy and the water is crystal clear. I couldn't be happier with the whole setup. It has taken a lot of time, reading, research, ect. to get it to this point, but it is sooooooo worth it to see it every morning!!! Now its on to growout! (The wife was surprised I turned down free coral the other day!) We have 90% of what I plan on keeping. I'll probably sell off half of what is in it now once they grow out, color up and are little mini-colonies. I want to see what they all can look like.... Obligatory FTS that is out of focus and crappy, but you get the new aquascaping idea.... More to come once I can figure out how to get some good pics.
  10. Thanks! I am really happy with it. I have looked at hundreds of clams, but never seen anything with that tight of a pattern on it. Here is one of the pair of Lineatus' we picked up
  11. Our newest acquisition from BRK
  12. +1 on both of those. Both classics that are just crazy nice.....
  13. They look better in his tank and in person for sure.....
  14. The clam was worth the 2hr drive! Thanks again John Here is a picture of it just opening up this morning....
  15. Always a pleasure going down there. GREAT CLAMS! and GREAT PRICES ON THEM!!! Less than 50% of some other stores! Very happy with the one we picked up. We'll be back with a crew of 4 on Thursday John. Great fish too. Too bad I couldn't talk the wife into the Rhomboid pair. Guess its hard when your known as the fish killer! Nice seeing everyone once again.....

    It's a BOY

Congrats! One day later and we would be brethren! lol
  17. That sucks! Cool it didn't wipe it out though. Wife has been buggin' me to pick one up, but I just haven't seen one with the coloration I like, like that one. Sounds good on the frag though. No hurries here. I have a ton of stuff. Now it is grow out time and picking up those 1 pieces that I want.
  18. I LOVE my MSX. I wouldn't buy another skimmer or waste more money on one. I couldn't be happier.....
  19. Cornhoolio has been pushing rocks around in my Fuge for a month now. His training regimen is sik! He is going to clean house on your hermits!!!
  20. Thats sweet Mike! Got any frags of that duncan yet? Can trade some stuff.....
  21. I have had them for about 6 months and have had great luck so far. The corner one sits below my vortec with no problem, and the lengthwise one in the back of the tank. I've had that one fall over a couple times from too much weight on it - the magnets do suck big time. Did the rock thing too. They need stronger magnets - and should have put a 3rd one in the middle and they would be tops in my book. I don't know about the flow issue - if you fill the holes on any frag rack they all become the same as far as flow is concerned.... GREAT for the price though. You can always buy new magnets. I like the Blackwater ones better since they have vertical supports that rest against the glass and 3 magnets.
  22. Yep - have to agree - nice clean looking racks. Ordered 2 myself. I also have the clear acrylic ones from thatpetplace - those are sweet too. I love the corner racks.
