  1. Done. I'm rather happy with my Prius gas mileage, but I'd snag me a VW diesel and convert it if it were easy enough.
  2. It definitely must be something in the air. Hope the star pulls through.
  3. I'm pretty confident it is nothing relating to water quality/conditions. The BTA got hammered pretty good. And the clownfish (maybe a bit over an inch) definitely had a huge chunk of goods just beyond his lips as I pried the food out after death. All my corals and other fish appear to be just fine, but I'll certainly keep an eye on things. Oh, the joys!
  4. Well today has not been the best day for my ventures in the hobby. As noted in a WTB thread (WTB: Anemone) earlier today, a fallen rock gave my BTA a bruising that it couldn't recover from, and it was found as a lovely pile of goo today. Then, this evening one of my true percs decided to commit suicide (maybe he missed the anemone he just found to his liking) by swallowing a piece of an algae wafer - much too big for him. I gave him a while to spit out the piece himself, but he quickly declined. Unfortunately he just passed a few minutes ago. Not much I could do for the little guy. Anyone been through such an experience? Sucks that I just got him a few weeks ago at the Aquarium Company, so I guess another trip is going to be due soon to pick up another. Hopefully suicidal fish is not common there.
  5. Sorry to hear the unfortunate news. Good luck.
  6. I just pull Sean or one of the crew aside and ask them, "how much?" It works for me. :-) A row of monitors chained to a PC would be cool. Update the info on the PC, and you are done. Like an airport arrival/departure screen. But I agree, going tech would be overkill - especially this early. Keep focusing on what you have going for you - clean shop, great corals/fish, and excellent prices.
  7. I love this tank and stand. I'd hate to be a copycat, but I may have to go knocking on NAGA's door to have him make another. Then again, I haven't see his prices yet.
  8. I'm certainly glad I joined. The advice is priceless. And the freebies/discounts are always nice.
  9. I've seen 120s in the Manassas Petco. I wonder if it applies to RR tanks. The new shop in Fredericksburg had some last time I was there.
  10. Hate to jump back off topic, but just wanted to throw it out there... I have 12+ years in Web Dev - PHP, ASP, .NET, HTML, CSS and other goodies. Worked with most forum systems. I'd be happy to help as time allows. I'm sure with the creative skills of some others on here much could be done. Now back to your regularly scheduled program...
  11. I feel ridiculous noting my 29 gallon reef on here when I see some of these numbers. Have a 37 gallon FW as well.
  12. Info on the coop http://www.cfcfarmhome.net/ 540-825-2200 If they have it and you don't want to make the trip, I can grab it and ship it at cost.
  13. What length is the PC light? 48"?
  14. Planned a trip up to Reston to visit the Aquarium Company. While I only wanted to check out the shop and selection, I was too tempted to leave without a few goodies. Great shop, wonderful staff, and excellent prices. I'll definitely be back for more. Just wish I could have made the party last night.
  15. It's amazing how the more defective coloring drives the cost up on these guys.
  16. I find the pricing to be very reasonable, but I got turned off to Maru when I picked up a pair of clowns from a bad batch Maru had in stock. Saltwater fish sales are final - no discussion necessary. The staff that I have met lack much of the knowledge I like to ascertain at the LFS - even the basics. So, I, for one, will be shopping elsewhere for the foreseeable future.
  17. Cozy Clownfish is definitely a small shop. But they carry some nice corals and fish. Pricing is decent. And the guarantee could make it worth it for some - although the guarantee appears to be down to 3 days instead of the 2 weeks noted in the OP. The staff is very welcoming - almost too much at times, but they are very helpful and willing to answer any question you throw at them.
  18. The galaxea, yellow polyps, and staghorn are doing well here too. The xenia frag I got didn't stand a chance though. Maybe next time. How are those RBTA's doing?
  19. Did anyone come across a Backyardigans backpack during cleanup? My son left the bag (filled with the small Army men toys) and a blue towel on the stage yesterday. Wanted to check and see if anyone came upon it before I dial up the church. BTW, I had a great time at my first WAMAS Frag Fest. Learned a lot, and it felt just like Christmas when I got home and opened up the cooler. All the frags I snagged are doing great except the Xenia. I don't think the Xenia appreciated such a long day in the zip lock bag. Great to meet you all and glad to be a member.
  20. Mine won't have the shirt, but she'll have the look!
