  1. Absolutely gorgeous! Will be following along and watching for your updates. Love the walnut railing and stone work. May I ask which room in your house it is set up in? And your fish room is directly behind the wall behind the tank? Is that your laundry room? Great job Anthony! Maureen
  2. just gorgeous. I have tank envy to the extreme. Oh when Jon gets a look at this one! Thanks for sharing. Maureen
  3. I am a huge fan of the RSM, even though mine is only 1/2 your size! I think your tank looks awesome. I like your aquascaping a lot. Keep the updates coming! Maureen
  4. Johnny, Would like to know if you are able to order an ORA male yellow Kuda sea horse as a mate for our female, or are they impossible to order by sex? Our female is doing extremely well and is a pleasure to watch in the tank. Awesome eater. Please let me know my chances. Thanks! Maureen
  5. Thanks Ryan. It still looks like a collection of frags on most of the rock work, but they're growing! The acans are doing especially well. Can't wait for it to really fill in, the colors are going to be really nice.
  6. Great visit at BRK this afternoon! Tanks are looking fabulous. Came home with some fish and frags (and a new pump too). One of our favorite stores. Definitely worth the trip. Awesome customer service. You can follow BRK on Facebook too, John posts the stock list there as well as some video. Awesome to meet Adam! Always fun with Byron! Keep up the good work John. You know we'll be back. Maureen and Jon
  7. Very exciting to hear!!! Can't wait to come in and check it out. Enjoying the updates, videos, and especially the stocklist updates on FB! Best of luck with your new business model! Maureen
  8. Sam, Tank looks absolutely beautiful. Your mom is doing a great job keeping it healthy while you're away!
  9. Thank you Sonny, that's very kind. Happy New Year. M
  10. Update: We were very happy with service and value, but unfortunately we lost 5 of the 6 acans after several days to a brown jelly infection. Jon treated with lugol's and put them in an area of high flow, but they rotted away anyhow. The zoa's continue to thrive, but we're unhappy about the unexpected loss of such a high percentage of acans. Would have to rethink ordering these in the future. m
  11. Wishing you and yours all the blessings of the Season! Merry Christmas! Maureen & Jon
  12. Wanted to say "Thank You" to the guys over at Mr. Coral for a great mail order experience. Thanks Sonny for all the specials/sales and variety you brought in and being so responsive to our on line/FB questions. Thanks to Brian for help with our order when we ran into a computer glitch on our end. Thanks to Ken for getting it shipped out and being such a great communicator. Everything has settled nicely into the frag tank and we're excited to see them grow out! (Acans are in my RSM, doing great). Thanks again, Maureen & Jon
  13. Roni, So sorry to hear about your tank crash. You know we'll do whatever we can to help. Maureen
  14. Thanks so much for asking! Jon is just finishing up upgrading the lights to LEDs. I'll have independent control over the blue and white lights as well as dimming capabilities. We've been taking pictures along the way for this thread and probably DIY if anyone is interested. Our replacement pipe fish is eating well and very active. I lost one of my female anthias that had been bullied by the other female. I came home to find her being consumed by the emerald crab, and when he was done she ended up face first into the bubble coral. It was pretty gross, but of course I took pictures. Loving how beautiful the colors of the corals are with the new lights. Will post pictures soon. Maureen
  15. I think we're available to help. I need to figure out when our daughter needs to be back on campus. Let us know. Maureen
  16. Weekends much easier for Jon and I (I'm just a cheerleader!) M
  17. So sorry Jon and I couldn't make it! BRK Socials are always awesome.
  18. Thanks Ron! I highly recommend trying to pair with a shrimp. The shrimp and goby were not paired when we found them at Fins and Feathers this past weekend, but I really liked both and wanted to give them a try, even though the shrimp was larger than I'd wanted. Jon created a nice little spot for them with some rubble and a piece of pvc pipe, dropped both of the hole ............... and they both went in different directions. I knew this was not likely an easy pairing (due to difference in size of both) but we were hopeful. The shrimp found a favorite spot first, under/behind a beautiful mushroom rock we got from Tony in VA. Yesterday I was delighted to find the goby peaking out from the same rock! We see a lot of the goby, she's a blast to watch, but very little of the shrimp as of yet. Jon drew the shrimp out with food to take the picture. I am pleased to say that against the odds I think they're going to pair nicely (I thought the goby would have to get much larger before being comfortable with the shrimp). On a side note, the claws on the shrimp are a gorgeous, deep, purple, although they show blue in these pictures. Thanks Sean! Hoping to get all my new acans and zoas from Petland in the RSM, thanks Ben at Petland! Maureen
  19. We were in VA Beach over Labor Day weekend for the 1/2 marathon and looked for a store too. The store that used to be there "Reef Chief" has moved much futher west and was not on the way. We did find a store just before the tunnel in Hampton, here's the link: http://reefdynamics-va.com/ We didn't get to go in the store as he wasn't open during our return trip. If you go, let me know what you think. We also stopped at Atlantis on the way home. There wasn't a lot of stock because of shipping issues due to the hurricane. I thought the fish were overpriced, but the store/tanks very clean. Hope that helps, Maureen
  20. Thanks Roni, we're really enjoying it, can't wait for Jon to take more pics. Still have more fish and corals to add before I'm done (at least for now). We need to set a date for a visit, I know we have frags to swap!
  21. Jon collects the RODI in one large trash can and runs the waste water into a second can in our unfinished basement where our laundry area is also located. I pump this water into the washing machine at the start of my laundry cycle and if we have a lot water will also use it for the rinse cycle. You would be surprised at how much waste water is created, at least I was, AND how much water a washing machine uses. I think there are pictures of the set up on our 120 build thread. JM calls it "The Lazar-O-Matic" system. Maureen
  22. I am so excited for you Roni! This is going to be amazing and if Bob is building your stand you will not be disappointed, he has great talent. When Jon and I were thinking about putting a larger tank in the same real estate as the current tank we brain-stormed on how to execute the transition. Lots and lots of large plastic tubs seemed to be one constant in the solution. You'll have to transfer everything out, keep it aerated, remove the current tank, place new tank, and then re-populate. Since you are way smarter than me about salt water, you have probably already figured all of this out!!!! Take lots of pictures if you want to create similar rock work to what you already have. You know we're happy to help on execution day! Keep up this post and pictures! M
  23. He is a handsome fish! His tail looks like stained glass and he moves through the water as if he's a graceful dancer in a ballet. I love watching him. John at BRK ordered him in for us, picked him up on Wednesday.
