Was thinking of a quasi reef... Zoanthus, leathers, maybe some sunset Montipora but I always got to have a little interactive aggression in the tank...so a porcupine puffer and some anemones will be in the mix also.

Hey WAMAS Family!!! It has been a long time since I have been online and a lot has happened...I am not going to bore you with all the humdrum details but in short I have started all over with a new build... entitled Happiness 2.0 "The Happiness Awakens" The tank consists of a 220g display and a 300g sump. My goal is to keep things simple with the build and overall fun! Powering the tank will be a Ecotech Vectra L1 that I picked up from Quantum Reefs (Thanks Vince). Filing the tank to leak test Just about full The sump will be behind a wall and under the tank will be drywalled and open for a couple of bar stools when everything is finished. Sump All the plugs will be connected to GFI and on their own circuit.

I personally like purchasing from someone on the boards...gently used. I think that recycling a tank and stand is cost effective and it leaves money to purchase other things you need for your new tank...like corals and cool fish!

I am really sorry to hear about your tang. I personally would let nature take its course. If you have a hospital tank, maybe move him to it.

You are correct. It is now pending. Hopefully, I will start a new build tread shortly. The new build will have between 500 and 600 gallons of total volume.

Reason I asked about the anemone is that it will provide some protection for him against bullies. The nem will give him a place to hide and the poison should keep fin nippers off of him.

Quality live sand comes from the sea floor away from beaches. The sand on the beach is where the ocean pushes all of its scum, nastiness & debris. I would not recommend using beach sand from anywhere on an established aquarium. If you ask around on the boards, I'm sure people would give you sand from their tanks.

Good for the tank, they are scavengers. Bad for your unprotected hand, should you put it in the tank.
