you see the majano anemones in the last picture... they are where the original frag plus from the first picture was removed... so everything in the picture is new growth... in 10 months
I dont know... alot of kalk? tunzes? 10k bulbs? I just switched to radiums so I think it slowed down a little bit...
This colony is dead center with four big tunzes blowing water to the front center of the glass... so no direct flow but definately high flow... it is directly under my center glass brace so it is not getting anywhere near as much light as it should... thats why the colors aren't as good now as it was...
This coral is AMAZING under actinics...
I have plenty of frags available too! Sorry I had to...
I thought these were a scolymia but based on this article it's Cynarina (=Acanthophyllia) deshayesiana .... http://www.advancedaquarist.com/issues/nov2003/invert.htm
I found another site that says they are Scolymia Australis... http://www.zeovit.com/forums/showthread.php?t=976
Anyone else have any of these? Anyone know what it is really called?
Kill them immediately. If you wait too long its all over... stay on top of it. At first I was good about killing aptasia and majano... then I got lazy and now I have a major problem... I have majano nems killing SPS now and I use aptasia-x 2 times a week.... they eat the flake food the fish miss and multiply like crazy... my problem is mainly majanos because I didn't realize they were almost as bad as aptasia...
If they grow on the sides/bottoms of rocks that you can't remove then you will never be able to "inject" them in the mouth b/c you can't see the mouth!!
you can use just kalk, just two part or just a calcium reactor..... or a combination of the three... I use a kalk reactor for all top off water and adjust with two part... eventually I will probably replace two part with a calcium reactor...
Wow that D10 looks awesome... I would buy that... I have an underwater camera case for my little SD10 and it took AWESOME pictures underwater... like this.... thats from a 4 year old 4.0 MP Canon Elph SD10 in an underwater case....
last time I saw him post corals for sale he was having a baby.... I have a few very nice corals from his tank... his tanks are mind blowing... if you ever have an opportunity you have to go...
He is an engineer with a newborn and keeping... I want to say 4 tanks.... maybe more...
His 180 is one of the nicest tanks in the country if not the world...

I just recently went away for 10 days. The day I got back my main return pump failed and it would have killed many corals had I not been home. Even if this had happened and someone told me it would have been very difficult to diagnose and fix (remove main pump and clean).
Have someone stop by daily... or have an AC3 to alert you...
I like Radiums and I think thats probably the response you will get from anyone who has tried them.
I saw some ice cap 14k 175 bulbs the other day and was impressed with the color...
I used to run XM 10 k and loved them... but needed more colors...
What do you feed your tank? Do you feed your corals? when I was feeding alot my PE was less. When I stopped feeding the tank frozen food and stick to just a small amount of flake and nori everything started doing alot better... after a few water changes to get the water cleaner...
I dont feed my corals b/c I dont want dirty water... Everything does great... some corals eat flake food...
