I had one 6" Hippo tang in my 55. He was too big. I struggled to keep my stats balanced and the tank ick free. He also ate my corals! Personally I would do it, but this particular tang came w/ the tank when I bought it. If you want more info you can p.m. me.

HI! Tropical Fish World in gaithersburg always gave me decent store credit for my fancy guppies whan they were ready to be sold. The credit was for fish only but that's how I bought some of my saltwater fish. Hope this helps.

Hi Dave, Could you use a waterfall type black plastic tub? It's a large one with a hole at one end, 3 descending chambers and a lip for the water to fall out. Did know if this would help aerate the sump or rocks in your holding tank? See you.

Rebecca mentioned leaving a large net in the tank and feeding the food from it. You bend the net to the right and the handle to the left into sort of a Z shape. When there is any food left over, it can be removed with the net. After awhile they are used to the net always being there. My tang was caught in the early morning before the lights came on and by lifting the rock that formed his cave that he slept in. He was out of sorts and much easier to cach when just awakened by his roof being lifted! I had left the net in for a couple of weeks so he didn't catch on as quick this time either.

HI! If possible, I'll take the 20 gallon tank and lights ( at the end of the meeting if possible), power heads and whatever else you would like to giveaway for this tank. I'll also like to reserve a free piece of the green sinulara and colt coral if possible. I will be trying to meet with a couple of people at the registration table during breaks. Not a problem with the fee. Just need to pay at the door if at all possible. I don't think anyone is complaining. Many new members are just that... new... and don't know.

I personally have a 55 gallon tank and a hippo tang that came with it. It is being moved/sold to a new home because at a large 6" X 2/ 1/2 " there is NOT enough swimming room for him. As gorgeous as he is I'd love to keep him but in at least a 90! Just a thought.

My tang prefers a cave to sleep in or dash into for a sense of safety. He also seems to "lock" himself with his dorsal spines into the rockwork at night so he doesn't have to work so hard at resting. Perhaps your is trying to wedge himself in for a sense of security. When mine gets really stressed out he plays "dead" by laying on his side or trying to wedge himself into a crevass. Hope this helps.
