HgrReefs August 28, 2015 Author Share August 28, 2015 Sweet!! I have both of them in my tank. How high do u have the ultimates? I need to take mine off the frag rack It's just below the mid-tank level. Right around 300-350 par. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
HgrReefs September 8, 2015 Author Share September 8, 2015 MACNA made come home and clean stuff up a bit. Trying to avoid the LARS Joe Yaiullo spoke of. Anyways, here's a couple pics. Some may be repeats, but fresh shots from this afternoon. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

HgrReefs September 8, 2015 Author Share September 8, 2015 Thanks guys!! There are a tone of frags in there...should be interesting. Eric, the lighting I'm running is what came with the RSM. It's a 4' 10 bulb T5HO fixture. The stock bulbs were swapped out for ATI and Geismann bulbs. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

HgrReefs April 4, 2017 Author Share April 4, 2017 It's been awhile since I have updated this thread, so here it goes. This tank suffered a crash back in May of '16, and all but 17 acros were lost, and I am still unsure of the reason, however I am located in an area of farmland and there were days when the smell of insecticide was in the air. This year, the A/C will be going on sooner and there is a carbon filter on the skimmer for extra measure. The rebuilding process began last August after letting the tank settle back in and figure itself out for about 3 months. Luckily, we have a pretty good group of reefers up here in Hagerstown, so finding replacements of lost pieces wasn't too difficult. Anyway, on to some pics. The tank has really started to fill in, and a Ca Reactor replaced my old method of dosing 3-part back in September. So far, I'm loving the Ca Reactor and the growth has been pretty crazy since adding it!

HgrReefs April 4, 2017 Author Share April 4, 2017 Tank crash, what tank crash. That thing looks awesomeThank you sir! The bigger pieces in there were the survivors, say they get the blue ribbon for durability. Hah. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
gmerek2 April 4, 2017 Share April 4, 2017 Did it make you nervous switching to a calcium reactor? I haven't switched yet. Due to "if it ain't broke don't fix it" but I do occasionally have minor stability problems that would level out with one and increase growth a lot with a reactor
HgrReefs April 4, 2017 Author Share April 4, 2017 Did it make you nervous switching to a calcium reactor? I haven't switched yet. Due to "if it ain't broke don't fix it" but I do occasionally have minor stability problems that would level out with one and increase growth a lot with a reactor I was hesitant for several years, but with the tank crash back in May, the tank was really just getting a foothold again when I made the switch. I figured if i waited any longer, I wouldn't do it. Once I made the switch, it was a smooth transition. Daily alk/Ca checks for the first week and a half or so, then I gained a comfort level with it. Since then, i've played with the pH a bit here and there to fine tune it, but no negative reactions. I say go for it. I will be switching my frag tank over soon I think. roni April 5, 2017 Share April 5, 2017 Looks fantastic! How is your ca reactor setup? Direct drip into sump or perstaltic pump feeding effluent?
HgrReefs April 6, 2017 Author Share April 6, 2017 Direct drip to the sump. Sicce Syncra as a feed pump. I love it. Alk gets checked weekly now, and the ease of use is great! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
