epleeds October 29, 2014 October 29, 2014 (edited) There are some YouTube videos on how to do it. Edited October 29, 2014 by epleeds
YHSublime October 29, 2014 October 29, 2014 I don't think it's that complicated, that being said, I've not done it. YouTube like epleeds said, has everything.
moga October 30, 2014 Author October 30, 2014 thanks.. now I ordered the ballasts.. I will keep you updated. man, it's not fun ..^>^
monkiboy October 30, 2014 October 30, 2014 i've done a few. the dimmable sunpower units are much easier and well-designed in that you can slide the entire guts out as a tray to work on it. the power modules require a bit more persistent and patience in removing the ballast and wiring carefully. watch out for exposed wire and fraying ends on the sharp aluminum and take your time. i have extra ballasts and would be glad to help if you need it. just shoot me a PM if that's the case. g'luck!
moga November 10, 2014 Author November 10, 2014 I think I messed it up.. I thought I followed the direction marking all the wires .. it's not responding.. it was on when I plug both of them.. and middle parts (4 bulbs.. just blinking and off). what should I do?.. hm.. I may want to put LED in the middle section...~
moga November 12, 2014 Author November 12, 2014 Never mind guys..spent too much time and didn't work. .I will just put LED unit into the middle section.~.. any suggestion?
DuffyGeos November 12, 2014 November 12, 2014 Un I don't think it's that complicated, that being said, I've not done it. YouTube like epleeds said, has everything. Just read this, I think Isaac is now in the same boat as of Nov 8th when his ATI took a bath without asking.
moga November 12, 2014 Author November 12, 2014 I made 6 out of 8 work.. without any electric shock.... it was triumph for me.. I am going to put Current USA orbit Marine Aquarium LED light to the slot that doesn't work.. any other LED retro fit or something?
wangspeed November 13, 2014 November 13, 2014 21 LED USA has a cheaper version than the branded Current ones. I am using two to adjust color in my tank and I'm quite happy. They also have a pro version with 3W LEDs. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
moga November 13, 2014 Author November 13, 2014 (edited) thanks ..~I checked their link..i think this one better cause it's very simple options that I need.~ I will have two of them and put them into my ATI unit.~ Edited November 13, 2014 by moga
Coral Hind November 13, 2014 November 13, 2014 Let me know if you need any help. I've changed a few ballasts over the years.
YHSublime November 13, 2014 November 13, 2014 I will be changing mine soon, but I believe my model is easier to work with.
moga December 26, 2014 Author December 26, 2014 I fixed it.. It took few weeks to figure out how ballast works... Now all good....wow..... Love ATI.. I returned Radion LED.. Wanted to try but..got my ati back in action..
GraffitiSpotCorals December 26, 2014 December 26, 2014 Glad to hear it! I am grabbing the one from DC and will probably replace the ballasts before I start running it. Hopefully it goes smooth.

I sat the new ballast next to the old one, and just transfered each respective wire over one by one, that way I knew it was going into the correct place.

Jst followed red, blue , yellow direction.. I was like. Is that simple??
BowieReefer84 March 3, 2015 March 3, 2015 Question; what type of bit is used to remove the ballast? It looks like a star, but isn't an allen wrench... I am about to replace a ballast in my powermodule as well, and need to buy this type of bit and a small 7mm wrench to get the old ballast out.
YHSublime March 3, 2015 March 3, 2015 I've always used an alan wrench. If I recall correctly, I used the same one that undid the fixture fittings.

One of these will be the right size, and I won't ever be so frustrated again trying to unscrew something. http://www.lowes.com/pd_459039-281-1873426_0__?productId=50056365&Ntt=torx+bit&pl=1¤tURL=%3FNtt%3Dtorx%2Bbit&facetInfo=#BVRRWidgetID
