someone, please. please help me.

I got this RODI system ( its small but should do what i need it for.)

I have a 20G so i didnt need anything crazy extravagant so... i purchased a "seahorse" system by aquafx.. problem is.. it wont work :(

I know i set it up right.. but for some reason, the water will only flow through the first stage ( sediment filter ) and not the rest.. my sink doesnt have a low flow by any means, i also tried it on my kitchen sink.. no bueno. I would try a spiket like for a hose.. but i live in an apartment.. not a single one on the whole @#$%^&*( building.. can you believe that? any ways... any one have any ideas?

Are there any valves or anything? MY BRS rodi has a valve that you switch in order to flush the membrane. If it's in the wrong position water won't flow to all of the stages. Didn't see it at first which confused me.

It doesnt make it past the carbon filter. So it doesnt even hit the flush valve on the membrane.

update: if i remove the sediment filter, it seems to work fine.. it all flows thru

Could it have been put in upside down?

That's a good thing to check. Some of the in-line sediment filters that I've seen have built in check-valves. Check the label to see if there are markings that indicate the direction of the flow.

take it all apart and reassemble it. see if there's anything blocking a line or port.

FWIW, you should have bought a conventional RO/DI

If your water pressure is really low or the filter is clogged, you could be losing a lot of pressure across that stage. It could also be that there's a blockage somewhere like Rob mentioned.

I would remove the sediment filter from the first stage, and place it in the second stage.  Does the water now make it through the (empty) 1 stage, and stop at the second stage (where you now have the sediment filter installed)?  If so, you've narrowed the problem to the sediment filter.

Does the sediment filter perhaps have some sort of cap or seal over the inner hollow core that you're supposed to remove before installation?  Is it shrink wrapped?
