schenktank March 12, 2012 Share March 12, 2012 how do i kill one aptaisia in the middle of a zoanthid colony without harming the colony?
Coral Hind March 12, 2012 Share March 12, 2012 If it is big enough you can stick it and inject it. If the zoas are nothing fancy you don't mind losing a couple then I would just kalk paste it.
Dr.eclipse March 12, 2012 Share March 12, 2012 lemon juice, boiling water, or aptaisiaX.

yauger March 12, 2012 Share March 12, 2012 please use eye wear if you decide to inject them outside of the tank!
Incredible Corals March 13, 2012 Share March 13, 2012 Either AptasiaX or I also like to use part B (alk) from any two part calc/alk mix. Have injected aptasia in zoa colonies and never lost a zoa that way.

Wrench March 13, 2012 Share March 13, 2012 I have a 1.4w high powered laser with a focus-able beam that will zap anything it touches. I can literally set your shirt on fire from across the room. It is handy for killing aptasia and mojanos with pinpoint accuracy.

I bought 25 for my badly infested 40gallon frag a few months ago. They took care of every last one in less then 2 weeks. Sold about 15 of them after. So there are a few left in there now. my frag tank is like 60% zoas, 25% acans, and the rest are also softy... no harm at all, and they've been in there for a long time, months now.... in fact, i've never seen them go far from the rock they usually hang out at.
