  1. I am not positive what in tank / media baskets uses to print their stuff nor what VCA uses to print theirs (see below) But the media rack and lid was printed on a upgraded creatality ender 3 by a neighbor
  2. The media box and the lid are custom prints and below below are from inTank.
  3. Or is there any chance one of you guys might have even a well used one in your fish junk closet?
  4. Had way better experience with fluconazole. Make sure you pull cheato and expect a possible pod population crash (goes for Vibrant or Fluconazole)
  5. Always wanted to try a proper PICO reef. I love DIY but the wifey says I have too many projects so hopefully this will limit just how much I can do with it. My challenge for myself is to see if I can keep up maintenance on this tank and make it presentable enough to possibly be nominated for a TOTM. Picked it up as a aptasia garden (seriously 100+ anems)*. This tank was an over run, neglected mess when I picked it up, no usable filtration media, clogged return pump that was only putting out a trickle, and a dying Hydor Koralia nano for "flow." *I am almost 100% positive that I'm going to empty the tank out clean it out and do a reset on it but for now while I'm a gathering the equipment to get the tank up to par with expectations I'm using it as an opportunity to experiment with different eradication techniques. ** I have since sold off the clowns as I felt like a 5 gallon was a way too small for a clown pair. I plan to also make this a DIY ideas thread as well as a build thread. Lots of customization but all stuff an average person could duplicate.
  6. They're detritivores generally though some people claim they're opportunistic omnivores. They do hurt like H-E-double hockey sticks if you grab one. (Bristle worms)
  7. Wait a sec... @Still_human is this the skimmer we were trouble shooting like a year and a half ago???
  8. Looks pretty much right to me as long as the riser pipe is a wedge valve
  9. Are there any alternatives to compact pumps (100 gph-160gph range) where the >>> power cord exits at the top rather than the back<<< of the powerhead? Also that are in stock/still sold.
  10. Time to ditch the wave master and go somewhere between Jebao to Vortechs
  11. I have an Avast > recirculating with gate valve mod< Cone skimmer which I love in concept. But I'm having a hard time getting it dialed in. I'm just getting very wet skimmate or none at all. How far does your fine foam/water mixture come up the skimmer neck? Do you have any sort of tuning device on your air intake? Do you find it's better to control the water level in the skimmer body using the effluent valve or by dialing the feed pump? My air intake is pretty loud, any advice on that? Note: It is definitely technically oversized for my tank volume. I have a 80 gallon with a 16 gallon sump. With live rock displacement and the sump running around 8-10 gallons give or take. I probably have pretty close to only 80 gallons of total volume. Stock list is a pair of clowns a pair of bangii cardinals, gramma, shrimp/goby pair. I do try to feed the tank at least once a day with fish food, a few times a week with reef roids, and everyday with Reef Energy AB+
  12. Pimped out aquariums or something like that guy makes bomb ass tanks from the ground up.
  13. Anyone ever replaced their Duetto, Smart ato, etc. pump with a DC peristaltic pump? Were you able to just add a plug and plug it in where the "regular" pump hooks up?
  14. The risk of the felt is if you had it on something like hardwood or carpet is it that it would absorb and hold waterThe risk of the felt is if you had it on something like hardwood or carpet is it that it would absorb and hold water
  15. Actually that seems like a super good idea actually as long as you don't need to pull the tank. I have mine on leveling feet that have felt bottoms. I would never ever do felt on the bottom of a tank that sat on say hardwood or carpet but since it sits on a solid non-porous polished surface (First it was on terrazzo at our last house and now it's on that fake tile stuff) I have been able to empty the tank most of the way and make little tiny adjustments in the realm of a few centimeters of moving the stand forward and backwards because it sits on the felt.
