  1. Steve, looking great. i also am almost done transfering my 72 over to a 120. Curious what is holding up the frag rack.
  2. For anyone interested. i know these are deep(er) water fish and wonder how well they do in captivity. very cool looking though--had never seen one before.
  3. I've been at the store just about every week since it's opened. love it, will continue going there probably just about every week. Prices very reasonable, great atmosphere, clean.
  4. Amazing
  5. Yes, gasket is not on the nut side. It may be that I just did not tighten it so that the gasket on the inside of the overflow is not flat against the glass. Thanks for advice, all.
  6. Plus at least 10 Powder blues, some with very vibrant colors. I've never seen that many sohals in one place.
  7. Getting a slow drip leak from one of my bulkheads (gradually filling up my 120). This is a dual overflow 120 RR tank. My current tank is not RR, so I am new to using bulkheads. Question is, should I use silicon or something else under the fittings, or is hand tightening the only thing needed? Thanks
  8. Outstanding site and tank!
  9. some people (myself included) go with the driveway reflectors they sell at HD or Lowes. They do the trick but they're not 1/2 inch thick.
  10. Not to pile on, but the WAMAS discount at Marine Scene is a pain. You have to call up first and get your name on the list? That doesn't build trust in my opinion. And when applied, the discount does not get you near prices of other stores in the area. In addition, I have no idea how difficult it must be to run a store, but the tone of some of these replies makes it seem like it's one great chore to have to offer up a discount to this club and at the same time countenance any criticism whatsoever from some members of this club. How many active members are there in this club? How may hundreds? The insinuations that we are all to blame for a few that complained perhaps a bit too loudly is not helpful.
  11. if the waste water is flying out then you have no restrictor. It is important to get the proper restrictor based on the GPD rating of the membrane you have. I believe BRK sometimes carries them, otherwise marinedepot.com does.
  12. Most of the time your/you're they're/their/there errors are not intended, but instead are a function of typing on a reef dork message board and not a thesis paper.
  13. Look at the size of the coral in the second photo, in particular. http://www.greenpacks.org/2008/09/02/world...rine-sanctuary/
  14. I've seen Larry treated poorly by Jos in there, this does not surprise me. One time Larry was going out of his way to find a goby that I wanted and Jos came over very annoyed that he was upsetting the substrate. Larry also told me that he was blamed for dropping a boxfish into a tank that proceeded to wipe out the whole thing but that someone else did it. That's a real loss for Roozens in my opinion. Larry has extensive knowledge, especially of wrasses. He can recite the Latin names of wrasses like the alphabet.
  15. Sorry about this Chris...
  16. Cool, thanks guys for letting me know--thanks also Johnny.
  17. Do they sell the large gallon jugs there? If so, how much? Thanks
  18. Good deal, thanks Blaze--yes right down the road
  19. I am heading out of town for a week soon, and need a back up. Not someone to go in my house (a neighbor is doing that) but someone who the neighbor can call in case something goes wrong. I am in Alexandria. Thanks in advance. Also, does anyone know who locally sells B Ionic two part. Seems I will run out before the vacation is over. Thanks again.
  20. Finally filling my 120--I need to buy live sand locally as I don't want to use the live sand I have in my 72 now. How many lbs do you think I need? Where should I buy? (trying not to spend much $) Which variety should I buy? Thanks
  21. Will probably be there with my wife and 2 kids--the clown is a great idea...thanks
  22. Want to put my 120 in an area where the floor is unfortunately uneven. It's about 1/2 inch off. It's in the basement with a concrete floor underneath pergo laminate flooring. Do I a) disregard and fill? not likely I don't think b) put some shims under stand? c) find a new location for tank? Fixing floor is not an option. Thanks
  23. is there a thread where people are putting what they're selling?
  24. Unless you noticed the spots prior to the day it died, it is likely not ich. 9 inches is pretty big--any idea how old it was? Some tangs though have been known to live 10+ years in captivity.
